That’s the empowering concept underlying the science of energy medicine, which states that you can take an active role in your healing process via a panoply of modalities, such as meridian clearing, balancing qi, applying Ayurvedic medicine and shamanic practices, chakra balancing, qigong, hands-on healing, healing touch, and many more.
Instead of focusing on symptoms and treating you from an external perspective as Western medicine does, energy medicine unlocks your life force to address the root cause of illness and heal you from the inside.
Energy medicine provides a holistic approach to healing — by not only addressing your body, mind and spirit, but also by working with your emotions, past trauma and even your relationships.
And that’s why we’re so excited about the inaugural launch of our Energy Medicine & Healing Summit (April 3 to 7), hosted by Dondi Dahlin, energy medicine consultant and bestselling author of The Five Elements. The visionary speakers in this global gathering will bring to light the curative and evolutionary powers of proven energy practices — to create vibrant health for you and others!
During the Energy Medicine & Healing Summit, you’ll discover how to take your health into your own hands (literally!) with today’s top energy medicine experts, health practitioners and healers who’ll guide you toward transforming your overall health from the inside out.
I’m especially excited to share with you the four articles in this edition of The Catalyst, all of which delve into different dimensions of energy medicine. To kick things off, we created an infographic to shed light on the six major modalities; Donna Eden shares a profound healing that won over a skeptical husband; Master Mingtong Gu offers a primer in qigong; and Dr. Sue Morter looks into an energetic “quantum flip.”
Our Member Profile features activist Anneke Lucas, a survivor of child sex trafficking whose journey of healing and forgiveness was deepened through offering yoga and meditation programs to incarcerated populations.
Our Featured Artist is ALIA, whose debut album, Feminine Medicine Volume 1, showcases women's artistic voices and feminine frequencies, especially in the traditionally masculine world of electronic music.
We would love to hear your answer to the question, “What energy medicine modality resonates with you the most, and why” To share your thoughts in our Facebook Page community, click here.
I do hope you join us for the Energy Medicine & Healing Summit this week. I’m confident you’ll discover how to access the ability to begin healing yourself, your loved ones and others. With a few simple techniques, daily practices and potent treatments from skilled practitioners, you’ll find out for yourself that the power to heal is at your fingertips.
That’s especially important because as more minds and hearts generate positive thoughts and healing, loving energy, we not only advance our own spiritual growth, we elevate collective consciousness. Yes, even in these tumultuous times we are making progress, and the world we dream of is closer than we think.
Another world is not only possible, she’s on her way. Maybe many of us won’t be here to greet her, but on a quiet day, if I listen very carefully, I can hear her breathing. — Arundhati Roy

Teaching classes in Energy Medicine throughout the United States, South America, Europe, and Australia these past years, it has been incredible to watch how quickly and eagerly people are learning to work with the energetic dimension of their physical body. Everything shifts as you use energy techniques that not only keep you healthy but can improve your wellbeing in every aspect of your life: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Learning how to tune into this neglected dimension of your being empowers you immensely.
Energy Medicine is based on the understanding that any physical, mental or behavioral problem has a counterpart in the body’s energies and can be treated at that level. Every conceivable health problem, psychological challenge or dysfunctional habit can be improved, if not overcome, by intelligently shifting the energies in the body that are maintaining that condition. This extends from treating cancer or multiple sclerosis to losing weight to increasing your vitality to improving your performance at something that really matters to you.
Do you find your mind whirling a lot lately? Are you feeling hurried or tired? Many people are just like you. According to the teachings of Wisdom Healing Qigong, this means it is simply time to come back home in body, mind and heart.
Like India’s yoga, and Tibetan Buddhism that migrated to the West, China’s cultural treasure, the energy practice of Qigong, is quickly spreading to the West. Because it has a history that extends back into ancient times dating 4,000 to 7,000 years ago, there are thousands of styles.
“In Wisdom Healing Qigong I discovered the ability to awaken joy, healing and vitality within, through connecting with the energy that flows through all life,” Master Mingtong Gu says. “As my teacher, Grandmaster and Dr. Pang, the founder of Wisdom Healing Qigong, taught us, more practice can yield deeper results.”
For nearly 10,000 years, ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs have depicted the use of energy for what is thought to be toning and healing the physical body. More than 5,000 years ago, the Vedas from ancient India described the power of moving energy in the body for healing and awakening the consciousness to higher realms by raising one’s vibrational frequency. And Quantum Science today is showing us that everything in all of creation is energy — including our fundamental nature as human beings.
The idea of Energy Medicine is new to some, but is actually rooted in our history as far back as recorded time. And while our culture has been developing new applications of this concept over the past many decades, we can be assured that it has been a longstanding staple of what has mattered most for humankind.
As founder of the nonprofit organization Liberation Prison Yoga, I enter jails and prisons to offer yoga and meditation programs to incarcerated populations, and to guide and train our teachers.
As a survivor of child sex trafficking within a pedophile network, I can relate to the trauma of imprisonment. After spending 30 years focused on healing from my extreme childhood trauma, I was able to recognize wherever people were on their journey back to themselves.
When I started going into prisons in 2010, I believed I was going to find there people like the abusers of my childhood: members of the world's elite who had traded their conscience for the riches of the earth, reaching the most sinister depths on their empty path. Instead, the jails were filled with poor people who couldn’t afford bail, waiting for their day in court.

Northern Peru (both the coast and highlands) was recently devastated by historically terrible flooding. The situation is urgent. People in the area don't have potable water or food, they’ve lost their homes, and they will not be allowed to rebuild where they lived before because the government is calling the area "off limits" since it's part of a flood zone. One of the students attending the Utah State University Ethnographic Field School in Huanchaco this summer has put together a giving campaign. To donate funds that will go directly to the residents affected by the flooding, click here.

ALIA is a music producer, DJ and vocalist who creates music that is elegant yet gritty, ethereal yet primal. Her songs balance pulsing masculine and fierce feminine energies in a unique way that inspires both deep inquiry and flowing dance. Her debut album, Feminine Medicine Volume 1, is a collection of heart-opening song collaborations with several of her favorite female artists. The project was created to showcase and uplift women's artistic voices and feminine frequencies, especially in the traditionally masculine world of electronic music. I had the honor of co-creating the song, "Choose," about surrendering into the unknown. ALIA is a rising star on a beautiful mission and I can't wait to see what she creates next!
