By Stephen Dinan, founder and CEO of The Shift Network
We're proud to be launching the Generation One Intensive with Barbara Marx Hubbard this Tuesday—one of the most exciting programs we've ever done, which unites 18 teachers such as Jean Houston and Michael Beckwith at the frontlines of personal transformation AND pioneers such as David Gershon focused on social transformation (check out his brilliant Cool Cities Challenge as a way to solve climate change—video here).
It's this combination of inner transformation and social impact that holds the promise of making a real and lasting shift of our culture. We can be the generation that activates a new era of human possibility and this 6 month Intensive is for those called to the frontlines of this work—for full program details, click here.
We also begin to focus this issue on the Summer of Peace, which is one of our programs that is most dear to my heart. If there's one essential ingredient for us creating a world that works for all, it is peace—and not just at an international level but in our hearts, families, and communities.
This year we're partnering on an Oakland launch event with the East Bay Church of Religious Science and weaving together themes from restorative justice to indigenous rights over the three months leading up to the International Day of Peace on Sept. 21st. Philip Hellmich's article in this issue explores what's coming for this exciting three months.
Finally, I wanted to mention that the Evolutionary Leaders group met in New York 2 weeks ago and we were able to meet with 4 like-minded pioneers in the United Nations and open a dialogue about how our larger movement could serve the United Nations goals, both internally and in the field. It's fun to have these doors opening.

Why We Desperately Need Integral Islam
By Amir Ahman Nasser
Through rationally deconstructing and tearing down the bulk of my now crumbled Islam, I unknowingly tore apart my own identity as an Arab, as a Sudanese, as a Muslim. And now my love, my Islam was gone. Divorced, discarded, and buried away. Leaving me with a painful and unexpected inner void I needed to fill . . . [read more]

Going Causal on an Ego Trip
By Erin Dewitt
Grab a cup of tea and enjoy the ride. From my perspective thus far, the journey on the wheel of co-creation is a wild one when you decide to go causal. Co-creating from the sacred space of the heart takes us beyond our imagination and I am grateful . . . [read more]
