Kami McBride

Author of the Herbal Kitchen, teaching herbal medicine since 1988

Kami McBride is the author of The Herbal Kitchen. She has developed and taught herbal medicine in the complementary and alternative medicine department at University of California, San Francisco School of Nursing and the California Institute of Integral Studies Master’s Degree Program. Her workshops and online courses help people bring the healing power of herbs into their daily lives to create self-reliance and revitalize their relationships with the plant world. Over the past 30+ years, Kami has helped thousands of families learn to use herbs and natural remedies for their self-care, to prevent illness, take care of common ailments and protect their health naturally.

Kami’s passion for herbal medicine was propelled by an excruciating brain surgery that resulted from a medication side-effect. Talk about a wake-up call. Awakening from the slumber of the standard drug solution approach to health, she started searching for a better way. Herbal medicine has now guided her life for more than three decades and her life long work is to inspire deep connection with the medicine of the plants, the lineage of home crafting natural remedies and the wisdom of our bodies so we can learn to live a healing lifestyle.
