A Personal Invitation to the March 15-19 Science of Healing Summit From Your Co-Host, Dr. Shamini Jain

Our second annual Science of Healing Summit, hosted by Dr. Shamini Jain and Dr. Paul J. Mills, takes place March 15-19.

This is an unparalleled time for those at the forefront of optimizing human health and planetary wellbeing through promoting the union of healing arts modalities with groundbreaking science.

Now you can join a global gathering of pioneers in evolutionary consciousness — including leading-edge scientists, healers, physicians, researchers, and inspiring teachers — sharing a powerful synthesis of inner and outer knowledge that promises to shift your consciousness and unlock your innate capacity to heal... body, mind, and spirit.

You’ll be immersed in the work of those on the front lines of synthesizing new and ancient healing technologies. These mind-blowing practices offer many benefits — from coherent focus and peak-state performance, to alleviating pain, anxiety, trauma, and much more.

Hi, I'm Dr. Shamini Jain, Founder and CEO of the Consciousness and Healing Initiative, and we are so excited to partner with The Shift Network for the Science of Healing Summit. It's probably no surprise to you that the buzzwords these days in society are healing and unity. And there's a reason for that. We're all coming to a profound understanding of the need to heal ourselves and unify in our healing efforts. And what I find really exciting about that is that science is helping lead the way. We know that science is a powerful language for us to understand how we heal ourselves and others. And during the Summit, we're learning from some of the most brilliant minds and hearts about how to do that.

So for example, we'll learn about the nature of the healing self from Drs. Deepak Chopra and Rudy Tanzi. And they describe both top-down and bottom-up processes to understand healing and to augment healing in our own lives. And that means connecting with a consciousness of who we truly are, the depths and the breadth of our consciousness as healing itself, as well as practical tools that we can use to help prevent aging, prevent Alzheimer's Disease, and even just expand our own sense of wellbeing.

Gregg Braden is pointing us to how important this time is for us to understand our human healing capacities and how that's really going to help us to create the world that we want to see. Bruce Lipton takes us on a journey through the subconscious mind and helps us explore how everything we do, everything that we think, and everything that we experience shapes our reality. And he takes us on a pathway to help us understand how we can shape our reality through the science that we know to be true about the subconscious mind and ways to work with it.

Dr. Sue Morter takes us through powerful practices to harness our own energy for wellbeing and health. Eileen McKusick also shares with us the power of resonance in our field, both through our singing voice and our tuning voice, as well as being connected with the resonant fields in our biofield, to release what we don't need, and bring in what we do.

These are just some of the people that I've been inspired by in the Summit, but there's even more. Dr. Dravon James takes us on a journey to understand everyday peace and step-by-step instructions on how to achieve everyday peace in our lives and how that leads to societal harmony. Dr. Maya Shetreat takes us on a journey to connect with the natural world, understanding how healing is truly interconnection, both in our bodies, as we learn about the microbiome, and our connection with the natural world.

Speaking of the natural world, Dr. Rollin McCraty takes us through some absolutely fascinating new research, exploring how our human heart rhythms not only synchronize with each other, but with the earth. And he shares some really powerful practices for how we can harmonize by tuning into our heart centers, even during difficult situations.

Cassandra Vieten helps us understand what some of the most cutting-edge research is behind entheogen practices or psychedelics, and Dr. Joe Tafur does the same with ayahuasca research. Dr. Sheila Patel takes us on a journey through Ayurveda and helps us understand those links between what we call the biofield, the fields of energy and information that guide our health, to understanding how we harness those in Ayurvedic principles to promote harmony within ourselves and with ourselves and the nature around us.

These are just some of the amazing, amazing discoveries that are taking place, and there's even more. Dr. Kenneth Pelletier takes us through journeys of epigenetics. And finally, Dr. Judith Orloff helps us understand for those of us who are empaths and highly sensitive people, how we can thrive in different environments and use those beautiful gifts that we have as empaths and highly sensitive persons to augment our health.

I'm so excited for the Summit because it's bringing together all of these beautiful, multiple perspectives on healing, both from ancient traditions and from modern science to help us heal, not only ourselves, but each other as well. So, I really hope you'll join me on the journey. I know you're going to love it as much as I have. See you there.

Shamini integrates her background in clinical psychology, psychoneuroimmunology, Jain spiritual wisdom, and the healing arts to teach people how they can best heal themselves and live life with joy and spiritual alignment “on purpose.” She teaches fundamental principles and practices from Jainism, an ancient East Indian philosophy that is thousands of years old, which has influenced social change leaders and freedom fighters such as Martin Luther King, Jr. and Mohandas K. Gandhi.

She teaches regularly at Kripalu, 1440 Multiversity, and Sivananda Ashram. Her research has been featured in TIME, US News and World Report, CNN, and other news media. She also shares research on the science of healing in diverse venues, including NATO, TEDx, major universities and medical centers, health-related conferences, and corporations. She has blogged for HuffPost and the Times of India. Her first book on the biofield and healing will be published by Sounds True in early 2021.

Shamini serves on the Board of Directors for Greenheart International, is a Steering Committee Member for Invest in Yourself at NEXUS, and is on scientific advisory boards for several social benefit companies, including Wacuri, Modern Spirit, and Leap Forward. She is also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at UC San Diego, and a member of UC San Diego’s Center for Integrative Medicine.

Dr. Paul J. Mills is Professor and Chief at the University of California San Diego’s (UCSD) Department of Family Medicine and Public Health and Director of the UCSD Center of Excellence for Research and Training in Integrative Health. He is Director of Research for the Deepak Chopra Foundation, with a focus on meditation and yoga within the context of Traditional Medical Systems. In the early 1980s, he published some of the earliest scientific research on meditation. His work has been featured in Time Magazine, The New York Times, National Public Radio, US News and World Reports, Consumer Reports, The Huffington Post, Gaia TV, and WebMD, among others. He has presented his work at hundreds of conferences and workshops around the world, including presenting at the United Nations. His current Integrative Medicine work focuses on better defining what is meant by the “whole person” and addressing the need to incorporate the transcendent aspects of human awareness, consciousness itself, back into medicine in order to truly understand the whole person and achieve optimal wellbeing.
