Stacey Tisdale
On air journalist Stacey Tisdale has reported on business and financial issues for more than 15 years. Ms. Tisdale authored a book which was released in September 2007, titled The True Cost of Happiness: The Real Story Behind Managing Your Money (publisher: John Wiley & Sons). A financial expert, Stacey appears on NBC’s Today Show, and reports for “Need to Know,” a weekly national broadcast on PBS. Ms. Tisdale is also a contributor to WowOWow.com, a website for women.
From 2002 to 2004, Stacey filed business and consumer reports for all of the CNN networks, including, CNN, Headline News and Marketsource which serves more than 600 local stations. Ms. Tisdale also reported for “Inside Africa,” a weekly news magazine show on CNN International. During this period, Stacey Tisdale contributed reports to “Money Talks,” the nationally syndicated program created by BusinessWeek. A member of the elite Society of American Business Editors and Writers, Ms. Tisdale has appeared on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” as a financial expert and has been quoted in O magazine. Her experience also includes hosting and anchoring on “Tech Live,” TechTV’s daily news program. In addition, Ms. Tisdale was a business correspondent for CBS MarketWatch, The Early Show, CBS Evening News, and CBS Radio.
Stacey’s journalistic career began at Dow Jones & Co. For 7 years, she produced, wrote, and eventually reported and hosted programming for Wall Street Journal Television, which eventually became CNBC. Prior to that, Ms. Tisdale was a writer for Dow Jones newswire service, Telerate. Ms. Tisdale’s broadcasting career came after her work on Wall Street as a cash manager for the commodities firm Balfour Maclaine International. Her responsibilities included managing as much as $70 million a day. Ms. Tisdale has also worked on the floor of the Coffee Sugar Coca Exchange. Stacey Tisdale graduated from Marymount College in 1988, where she studied international business and finance, and she attended Polytechnic of Central London in England.
Ms. Tisdale has traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean, Europe, Africa and Cuba. She is a board member and advisor for John Hope Bryant’s financial literacy organization, Operation Hope: http://www.operationhope.org/smdev/. Stacey has authored a personal finance curriculum for college students on behalf of The White House and Operation HOPE. The program was mandatory for students at Spelman College, beginning school year 2008-2009. It is now being adopted by Historically Black Colleges across the United States. Ms. Tisdale is also a board member of the YWCA in Greenwich, Connecticut.
Stacey Tisdale also creates financial education and life skills programs for professional sports teams and corporations based on her research including WNBA team the Washington Mystics, the NFL Super Bowl champion New York Giants, and the female employees of Microsoft.
