You Might Be Somebody’s Only Angel of the Day
By David Wagner

I was working in my salon when a regular customer came in to get her hair styled. I was surprised to see her since it was right in the middle of her five-week period between haircuts. I figured she must have an important social engagement that evening since she asked for her hair to be styled instead of just cut. “No, I don’t have anything special going on,” she told me. “I just want to look and feel good tonight.”

Luckily, I was able to fit her in. I was in a great mood that day and I was really “on.” I gave her a great scalp massage and shampoo like I always did, and then styled her hair. We had a blast the whole time. We laughed and joked and entertained each other. When she left, she gave me a big hug that lasted just a little bit longer than usual.

By Wendy De Rosa (a featured speaker in the Winter of Wellness Summit)

What does the inability to get grounded, not sure how to feel feelings, fear of commitment, getting overly attached, and then losing attachment all have in common? An imprint of abandonment in the lower body. Abandonment looks different for different people…

5 Simple Habits to Improve Eyesight Naturally
By Holly Tse (a featured speaker in the Winter of Wellness Summit)

If you’re looking for ways to improve eyesight naturally, here are 5 simple things you can do to improve your vision. They helped me reduce my prescription by 30% for my left eye and about 15% for my right eye. And I got rid of the astigmatism in my right eye too.

I found a book on natural vision improvement and it blew me away. I didn’t think it was possible to improve your eyesight, short of Lasik surgery. I started doing a handful of the eye exercises in the book and my prescription reduced by two quarter diopters (0.5).

Is Your Heart Health Connected to Your Breast Health?
By Dr. Veronique Desaulniers (a featured speaker in the Winter of Wellness Summit)

It may seem obvious that maintaining coherence within can greatly benefit an individual going through a healing journey with breast cancer. Wouldn’t it be great if you could maintain this state for an extended period of time or in the midst of chaos and crisis? Positive psychologists and neuro-cardiologists say that it is possible. Let’s Make the Impossible Happen
By Albin Hagberg Medin

How can we succeed in battling the empire of oil, of guns, and greed? The empire of corrupted hearts and broken souls.

How can we fight a system that is rigged against us on every level? Laws made to protect the rich, laws to ensure that the cancerous growth of the economy keeps growing. Laws to prevent crowds to gather, laws to keep people in school, at work, laws and norms to keep people doing "business as usual" in a world set aflame.

Fight all of this without using violence? Without resorting to the same means as our enemy, the means of oppression, of abuse, bullying, stigmatization, fearmongering, shame, and guilt. I know one weapon available to us.

The Great Year
46-minute film, narrated by James Earl Jones

Ancient cultures around the world believed that history and consciousness move in a vast cycle of time with alternating Dark and Golden Ages. Plato called it the Great Year. Most of us were taught that this theory was a myth, if we were taught anything at all. But the fact is that modern scientists are increasingly finding anomalous artifacts or evidence of higher ways of living, long before the last Dark Age.

One hypothesis is just as the earth’s rotation on its axis causes the cycle of day and night, shifting mankind's perspective from a conscious to subconscious state and back again every 24 hours, and just as the earth’s revolution around the sun causes the cycle of the seasons and trillions of living things to bloom, decay, spawn, or migrate in mass, so too does an even larger motion of the entire solar system cause an even longer cycle, and a complete change in the inner and outer world.

This fascinating film, narrated by James Earl Jones, explores the science behind the Great Year. Watch it for free here.

31-Day Food Revolution: Heal Your Body, Feel Great, and Transform Your World
By Ocean Robbins

Ocean Robbins’ grandfather founded Baskin-Robbins. His father, John Robbins, grew up with an ice-cream-cone-shaped swimming pool, but then walked away from the family company and fortune to become a renowned health advocate and write bestsellers like Diet for a New America. Now, Ocean is on a mission to transform the industrialized food culture into one that celebrates and supports healthy people and a healthy planet. His upcoming book, 31-Day Food Revolution: Heal Your Body, Feel Great, and Transform Your World, reveals how you can use the power of delicious food to heal your gut, lose excess weight, and lower your risk for disease — all while contributing to a healthier planet.

Why are there 31 chapters? Because, Ocean says, these 31 steps to health will give you more satisfaction, and more pleasure, than 31 flavors of ice cream! Click here to watch the book trailer and to order your copy.

For several years, The Shift Network has hosted Indigenous leaders from around the world and invited them to share their sacred knowledge, rituals, and practices to guide us in a way of living that is sustainable, healthy, and just. We’re thus delighted that the Global Indigenous Wisdom Library makes this “virtual council” of leaders and their wisdom available for everyone, everywhere for free. The Global Indigenous Wisdom Library is a collection of audio and video interviews featuring Indigenous leaders from around the world sharing prayers, sacred songs, prophecies, spiritual teachings, and pathways to healing, as well as concrete examples for birthing a new era — one in which all members of the human family are treated with respect, understanding, compassion, and justice. This sacred wisdom is important medicine for us all.

The production of The Global Indigenous Wisdom Library is a gift from The Shift Network, designed to inspire, inform, and involve you by highlighting the voices and important messages of Indigenous leaders from around the world. We want to give a heartfelt thanks to Hereditary Chief Phil Lane Jr. (“Brother Phil”) for his partnership in helping create this Indigenous Wisdom collection. Heloise Pilkington

I have found that certain music helps refresh my mind and brings me to a point where I can renew focus and dispel stress. I adore folkloric singer Heloise Pilkington's serene and crystalline voice; It helps me stay calm and clear... and the kids love it too!"

Psychologies magazine

Here’s how Heloise describes her musical journey:

Music, singing, creativity, and healing are my passions. I have journeyed with song, music, and sound since I was a child, and finding my authentic voice has been my life's journey. As a professional singer I co-created an a capella trio called The Madrigirls, and we have had the privilege of singing to audiences throughout the country and all over Europe. I am continually inspired by the power of the human voice as a medium for expression, healing, and connection.

It has become clear to me that right now my path of service is to assist in the awakening of the Divine Feminine consciousness on the planet. Some people refer to this as the reemergence of the Goddess, or Goddess-based spirituality. I experience the Goddess as a tangible energetic reality. When I invoke or pray, I feel a vibrational shift in my body, particularly around the heart center. One of the ways in which I love to invoke the presence of the Goddess is through my voice.

Right now I am very excited because for the first time in my life my two great loves, music and spirituality, have come together in one path.
