The Swami Who (Literally) Saved My Life By Dean Ornish, MD
Anyway, I was in so much emotional pain that I was willing to try anything. It’s not even so much what the swami said, but who he was and what he embodied. I was struck by the clear light that was filling up the room, his peacefulness and playfulness, the twinkle in his eye, and the joy that he exuded. And so I figured, Well, let me give this a try. I can always go to Plan B and kill myself if it doesn’t work.

Rev. Deborah L. Johnson’s Story Rev. Deborah L. Johnson is a featured speaker in the Thriving in Your Third Act summit
EXCERPT: And these words turned my life around. He just looked at me and said, "You do good in there ‘cause I believe in you." And I was so deeply moved. There was something about the words from this stranger: "I believe in you." And I remember being so humbled, thinking, this man who's here working at this kiosk probably never had a chance to have any education. You know, here I'm working on my master's degree, and he's gifted me with...

Julie Bjelland’s Story
EXCERPT: She was also a sensitive person, and there was this sense of, "Wow. We really got each other." And we could tell each other things that maybe we didn't feel like we could tell other people — reactions that we were having, emotions that we were having, and the intensity of our experiences. There was something just so beautiful about being able to have somebody truly see me and love and accept me, and to give that right back to her.

Julie’s new 7-week video training, 7 Steps to Embody the Gifts of Your Sensitivity: Understand Your Emotional Brain, Navigate Overwhelm & Flourish as an HSP, begins Tuesday, August 13. For more details — and to enroll — click here. |
Anodea Judith’s Story
EXCERPT: You know, when I was down and out as a single mother, I had a three-year-old and I was suffering from Lyme disease and I'd been living in the country off the grid, trying to come back to the city to make a living, didn't have a place to live.

Anodea’s new 7-week video training, Clearing the Seven Windows to the Soul: Applying the Psychology of the Chakra System for Healing & Awakening, begins Tuesday, August 13. For more details — and to enroll — click here. |
Phoenix Singer’s Story
EXCERPT: Sometimes I've wondered... the only other time I ever saw him was at the arraignment. He showed up there and we didn't speak; I was in the front row and he was in the back. He didn't approach me, I didn't approach him, and he didn't speak to me after. And sometimes I'm almost convinced, or at least I wonder if he didn't exist almost in physical form in the everyday world, but came as my angel, my guardian to help me out, to take care of me when I needed it the most.

Annie’s Health Philosophy – What’s Yours? By Annie B. Kay, a featured speaker in the Thriving in Your Third Act summit
Through my years of helping groups and individuals improve their health through lifestyle, I have seen hundreds (maybe thousands) of people who want to eat a healthful diet that supports who they are, but don’t. They can’t get started, can’t sustain it or get sidetracked by things that don’t work. It can be nearly impossible to eat well in our current (nutritionists call it toxic) nutrition environment.

Dying to Be Me TEDx Talk by Anita Moorjani, a featured speaker in the Thriving in Your Third Act summit
Doctors had given Anita Moorjani just hours to live when she arrived at the hospital in a coma on the morning of February 2, 2006. Unable to move as a result of the cancer that had ravaged her body for almost four years, Anita entered another dimension, where she experienced great clarity and understanding of her life and purpose here on earth. She was given a choice of whether to return to life or not, and chose to return to life when she realized that "heaven" is a state and not a place. This subsequently resulted in a remarkable and complete recovery of her health. Anita's riveting talk will inspire you to transform your life by living more authentically, discovering your greatest passions, transcending your deepest fears, and living from a place of pure joy.

Dying to Be Me By Anita Moorjani, a featured speaker in the Thriving in Your Third Act summit
In this inspirational memoir, Anita Moorjani relates how, after fighting cancer for almost four years, her body — overwhelmed by the malignant cells spreading throughout her system — began shutting down. As her organs failed, she entered into an extraordinary near-death experience where she realized her inherent worth… and the actual cause of her disease. Upon regaining consciousness, Anita found that her condition had improved so rapidly that she was able to be released from the hospital within weeks... without a trace of cancer in her body! Within these pages, Anita recounts stories of her childhood in Hong Kong, her challenge to establish her career and find true love, as well as how she eventually ended up in that hospital bed where she defied all medical knowledge. Every Bite Is Divine By Annie B. Kay, a featured speaker in the Thriving in Your Third Act summit
We each have a perfect natural weight and shape. By remembering how to care for ourselves lovingly, we allow ourselves to rediscover that unique and healthy body.In Every Bite Is Divine, you'll discover:
- Why diets put your mind and body in the mode to gain, not lose, weight - and simple ways to reverse the trend
- How you are continually bombarded with cues to eat exactly what's wrong for you — and how you can inoculate yourself
- When “fight or flight” turns into “stew and chew,” learn to short-circuit the cycle, manage stress — and drop pounds the healthy way
Our modern environment, filled with junk foods, promotes weight gain. At the same time we are inundated with images that suggest we are failures if we aren't model thin. This culture of mixed messages undermines our ability to be happy with who we are. Click here to order your copy.

Rene Wagemakers
My career as a professional Fine Artist began in my native country of the Netherlands with a formal art education at the Academies of Fine Art in Tilburg, and the Rijksacademie in Amsterdam. I moved to California in 1980 and have lived here since.
I have worked in many different styles over the years, from abstract, symbolism, surrealism, and impressionism, and gradually to more realism. In the mid-nineties I started painting the eyes of a saint, with the intention of recreating an experience I had while visiting her in Europe. That painting gradually became a complete portrait and it marked the beginning of painting portraits, apparently following a long Dutch tradition of painting in realism.
Most of the portraits are commissioned, and I use photographs, including black-and-white images which I “translate” into color. Even though technique and an eye for detail are important tools, I find that simply staying in the moment is more important, allowing intuition to flow.
Attached are my portraits of Paramahansa Yogananda, founder of Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF) and author of the spiritual classic, Autobiography of a Yogi; and Sri Daya Mata, who served as president of SRF for 55 years.
