Within your soul is a map of your life’s journey...
Ancient Hermetic teachings suggest that this map was created as we descended — as sparks of divine light — through the planetary spheres into human form; and when we die, we ascend back to where we came from.
Every life has its arc of beginnings, endings, and renewal. Our mortality can become a profound spiritual teacher that initiates a deeper dialogue with our true self as we embrace the beautiful, mysterious, heart-wrenching, mind-blowing experience of being human.
The celestial gifts, lessons, and energetic imprints are embedded in our descent, life experience, and return to the stars can be found in our astrological birth charts, asserts soul astrologer and end-of-life researcher Sue Brayne.
Sue’s work is grounded in extensive academic, therapeutic, and esoteric study — from training as a life, death, and transition facilitator with the Elisabeth Kübler-Ross Organization and earning dual MAs in death studies and creative writing, to being an honorary researcher for one of the first end-of-life studies with neuropsychiatrist Dr. Peter Fenwick, which explored the mysteries of consciousness at the end of life.
During this insightful course with Sue, you’ll uncover how the cycles of life, death, and rebirth are reflected in your birth chart and the greater journey of your soul across lifetimes.
This includes your purpose, path, and karma — and how you were meant to express your light in the world.
If you choose to enroll, you’ll receive a resource for how you can obtain your birth chart for free.
Guided by ancient Hermetic and alchemical wisdom, Gnostic insights, and modern psychology, you’ll discover how specific planets and houses in your chart hold divine clues not just about who you are but where your soul has been, where it’s going...
... and how you can navigate the many stages of life and death with greater ease, wisdom, integrity, and intention.
You’ll learn where to look for past-life influences and insights about your current life’s calling, including your magnum opus — or great work.
You’ll uncover powerful allies for conscious aging and learn how to work with challenging transits to propel your spiritual growth forward and gain insights that can help you embrace endings — not as final, but as passages in an infinite journey.
If you’re ready to meet life’s thresholds with courage and curiosity — and would like a timeless map to guide your way, Sue will help you illuminate a path through the stars — and to the greater story your soul is here to tell.

Whether you’re a spiritual seeker, end-of-life professional, or astrology enthusiast longing to understand the deeper wisdom within your chart, this 7-week journey will help you understand how astrology offers timeless wisdom for navigating your soul’s evolution with ease, reverence, and compassion.
Each week offers space for astrological and spiritual inquiry — helping to transform the fear of the unknown into a deeper understanding of the great cycle of life and death.
Life’s transitions — whether they feel marked by endings, new beginnings, or unexpected detours — become far less daunting when you see them as part of a larger cosmic rhythm...
... when you can recognize the turning points and challenges in your life as a reflection of a greater planetary cycle for transformation that’s not impeding you but beckoning you into a more authentic version of yourself.
Step forward with the cosmos as your compass, and discover how profoundly you are held, guided, and called to shine.
In this 7-week transformational course, Sue will guide you through the skills and competencies you’ll need to uncover the ancient and esoteric mysteries of life and death and how they are revealed in your astrological chart.

This course will feature LIVE teachings, interactive sessions, experiential practices, and Q&A with Sue. Each session will build harmoniously upon the previous ones, so you’ll develop a complete holistic understanding of the practices, tools, and principles you’ll need to embrace the transformational potential of your birth chart and your soul’s ongoing journey within the cycles of life and death.

Modern Western culture struggles to talk openly about death because it has been largely hidden, medicalized, and stripped of its deeper symbolic and spiritual meanings.
The enduring human longing for belonging, meaning, and transcendence, reflected in Carl Jung’s work and across mystical traditions, invites us to see death as a profound transition within life’s great cosmic cycle.
During the first session, Sue will share how astrology was once deeply intertwined with the soul, fate, and cosmic cycles, offering a divine framework to understand mortality as part of an ongoing cycle of life and death.
You’ll explore how the rise of organized religion replaced this view with a linear understanding of life ending in a final judgment — rejecting concepts like reincarnation and diminishing astrology’s influence…
… and how the Enlightenment further promoted rationalism, pushing spiritual and astrological perspectives, as well as the language and symbolism that helped humans meaningfully engage with mortality into the shadows.
You’ll also contemplate emerging scientific explorations of consciousness and a panpsychic universe, where mind or spirit is seen as fundamental to all matter.
In this session, you’ll explore how:

Astrology and reincarnation offer meaningful ways to understand growth, healing, death, and the soul’s timeless journey.
While Eastern religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism see reincarnation as central, Abrahamic faiths focus a single lifetime followed by judgment.
This week, you’ll explore how astrology offers a symbolic language for both incarnation and reincarnation by mapping karmic lessons, past-life influences, and the soul’s purpose.
You’ll also explore incarnation into the “Cross of Matter” — the four major angles of the birth chart, including the Ascendant, Descendant, Midheaven, and Imum Coeli — which represents how the soul grounds itself within the physical world. It can also indicate the soul’s journey of reincarnation.
Besides the four angles, Sue will share important factors including the lunar nodes, Pluto, Saturn, and specific house placements, which together reveal the soul’s journey through matter.
You’ll also discover how historical figures such as Plato, Aristotle, Alice Bailey, and Rudolf Steiner explored these themes, blending spirituality and psychology.
In this session, you’ll:

This week’s session explores the nature of soul, what it is, how we’ve understood it through time, and how astrology can help us reconnect with its deeper purpose.
Sue will share historical and modern views of the soul to demonstrate that regardless of your worldview, the wisdom of astrology can support your understanding of your own soul and its evolution. From Plato and Aristotle's early philosophy on fate versus free will — and how astrology historically mirrors the changing tension between destiny and choice...
… to mortality as deepening the soul, which astrologers can interpret in the astrological chart as the. map of the soul's journey.
You’ll also explore how mysticism mirrors astrological cycles of ageing, transformation, and legacy — and how neuroscience links early attachment to death anxiety and soul connection that honours death as a rite of passage and astrology as the practice for nurturing the soul.
In this session, you’ll discover how:

Knowing your natal chart and tracking planetary cycles provides a personal compass that can guide you with intention through beginnings, endings, initiations, and rebirths.
Sue will share how planetary cycles mirror life’s developmental stages — and how astrology helps us recognize turning points not as crises, but as invitations to evolve. Challenging transits like Saturn returns, Pluto squares, and nodal oppositions push us to release outdated roles and uncover deeper truths.
These patterns repeat over time, but with each return comes an opportunity for greater wisdom, authenticity, and alignment with the soul’s purpose.
You’ll also explore how personal journeys weave into generational collective rhythms, shaping a legacy that reflects not just what we’ve done, but also the role we have played generationally.
From this perspective, aging is a process of soul-deepening rather than decline, and astrology offers a way to support and integrate this journey.
In this session, you’ll explore:

Through the lens of astrology and alchemy, both rooted in ancient Hermetic philosophy, you’ll explore the transformation of matter, spirit, and self through life’s trials. Together, astrology and alchemy reveal the Magnum Opus — your Great Work).
This week, you’ll explore how alchemy’s quest for the Philosopher’s Stone symbolizes the pursuit of inner enlightenment, working with classical elements (earth, water, air, fire) and the Tria Prima (mercury, sulphur, salt) to illustrate stages of transformation.
Hermetic principles, such as “As above, so below,” unite cosmic and personal evolution and explain the alchemical journey through darkness, purification, illumination, and integration.
Sue will share what celebrated astrologers such as Liz Greene, and Clare Martin believed the astrological process for transformation occurred in our astrological charts, inviting us to reconnect with the cosmos and to understand our personal cycles of transformation.
This week, you’ll explore:

This week, discover how groundbreaking research into the dying process mirrors ancient teachings.
Guides for souls between the seen and unseen worlds, or psychopomps, appear across ancient cultures, from Anubis to Hermes, and in astrology as Mercury and Pluto. These archetypes reflect the soul’s journey through thresholds of life, death, and transformation.
Ancient teachings describe the soul’s descent through planetary spheres into the physical elements at birth — and its ascent back through them after death. Soul Midwife Felicity Warner’s study into how the dying release attachment to life through the elements is an astonishing mirror for these teachings.
It reminds us that death is a rite of passage rooted in profound ancient wisdom. In astrology, the 4th, 8th, and 12th houses together with the South Node function as release points — a letting go of attachments, identities, and karmic residues.
They also reveal the soul’s past experiences, which must be surrendered in order to evolve. Together, these planetary archetypes and practices restore reverence to the dying process and guide the soul through the veil to whatever comes next.
In this session, you’ll discover how:

In this final session, you’ll briefly review the key themes from the past six weeks and be invited to embrace your Magnum Opus — your unique Great Work — by consciously connecting with mortality and honoring your life’s natural cycles.
The session encourages you to explore ways to integrate astrological cycles into your daily life — to deepen your understanding of yourself and your aging process.
There will also be extra time for questions, personal reflections, and group discussion to share insights and explore how your relationship with life and death has evolved over the past seven weeks. This session aims to help you recognize the cycle of life and death not just as an inevitable process — but as a profound spiritual teacher guiding your growth and transformation.
In this session, you’ll embrace:

Everything changed for Sue Brayne 40 years ago. Surviving a light aircraft crash forced her to confront her mortality and catapulted her onto a profound healing journey, which sparked her interest in astrology and the great cycle of life and death.
Sue initially trained with the Elisabeth Kübler-Ross Foundation as a Life, Death, and Transition facilitator, and went on to gain an MA in the Rhetoric and Rituals of Death (King Alfreds, Winchester) and a second MA in Creative Writing (Oxford Brookes).
Sue became neuropsychiatrist Dr. Peter Fenwick’s honorary researcher for one of the first end-of-life experience (ELE) studies, which studied consciousness during the dying process. This inspired Sue to train as a psychotherapist, specializing in trauma, end-of-life issues, and bereavement and grief, and to work as a Death Cafe facilitator.
She went on to achieve a diploma with the Faculty of Astrological Studies; her astrology work focuses on helping people identify their soul’s evolutionary path. Sue is also a TEDx speaker, sharing her view on the importance of wearing your mortality with pride, and is host of the “Sue Brayne: Celebrating Astrology” YouTube channel.
