Imagine if you could heal the effects of the toxic environments we all live in with safe, natural plant therapies?
Toxic overload is quietly eroding our vitality, disrupting the delicate balance of our bodily systems, and giving rise to chronic inflammation, fatigue, and disease.
The world we live in today — saturated with microplastics, industrial pollution, synthetic chemicals, and pharmaceuticals — continually challenges our own natural detoxification systems. In fact, toxicity, and its inflammatory responses, is an underlying factor in virtually every chronic medical condition.
Yet, as master clinical herbalist David Crow teaches, the body possesses an extraordinary intelligence for renewal and repair... once we know how to work with the natural detoxification processes of our bodies.
In his new 18-module, 21-week training, David invites you into a profound exploration of how to restore and protect your health from internal and external toxicity through clinical, plant-based detoxification based on the latest biochemical research.
Through a systematic examination of the respiratory, digestive, nervous, hepatic, cardiovascular, lymphatic, urinary, endocrine, and musculoskeletal systems, you’ll gain an integrated understanding of how organs communicate and collaborate to maintain internal balance and vitality.
As you gain a deeper understanding of eight primary organ systems, you’ll learn how to support your body’s innate cleansing mechanisms with wisdom and precision — moving beyond harsh “cleanses,” quick fixes, and detox fads, and into a steady, informed, and gentle partnership with plant medicines.
Drawing from more than 40 years of study and clinical experience, David offers a comprehensive system that unites the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, and modern botanical research.
He’ll reveal how each of the body’s organ systems — respiratory, digestive, neurological, hepatic-biliary, cardiovascular-lymphatic, renal-urinary, endocrine, and musculoskeletal — has its own distinct pathways for detoxification and protection, and how they work together as one living system.
You’ll explore:
You’ll learn about herbs and formulas that support the body’s natural detoxification mechanisms and can restore balance at every level — cellular, organ, and systemic — while strengthening your overall vitality.
David’s approach blends clinical precision with deep spiritual reverence. He teaches that true detoxification depends on understanding the interconnections among the body’s systems — recognizing how they continually cleanse and regenerate, and how targeted plant therapies can safely support that function.
When the lungs, liver, kidneys, and skin are properly supported, toxins are eliminated with ease. When your nervous and endocrine systems are harmonized, energy, mood, and clarity naturally return.
Throughout the training, you’ll gain practical knowledge you can immediately apply — from simple daily herbal routines for long-term protection to evidence-based insights into nutraceutical compounds that reduce the burden of modern toxins.
You’ll then deepen that foundation by exploring how detoxification influences aging, immunity, and chronic disease — learning to identify and address complex toxic burdens through herbal and nutraceutical interventions.
With extensive documented pharmacopeias, you’ll be equipped to implement evidence-informed detox strategies that support long-term health and resilience for yourself and your clients — and to work collaboratively with healthcare providers to reduce dependence on medications that may be contributing to toxicity.
If you’ve been searching for a safe, evidence-based, and holistic framework to detoxify and rejuvenate the body — for yourself or for clients — this program offers a rare opportunity to learn directly from one of the world’s foremost experts in plant medicine and clinical detoxification.
What You’ll Learn: Safe, Research-Backed Detoxification for Long-Term Health & Resilience

Sessions are on 2025-12-04 1:00:00 pm.
This program will feature LIVE teachings, interactive sessions, experiential practices, and Q&A with David. Each session will build harmoniously upon the previous ones, so you’ll develop a complete holistic understanding of the practices, tools, and principles you’ll need for determining when and when not to detox, and identifying herbs and formulas that protect and detox bodily systems.

The key to finding a balanced detoxification program for you or your clients’ unique constitutions and health conditions starts by understanding how the body is already continuously detoxifying itself — and then gently supporting those processes.
When deeper detoxification is needed for more serious conditions, you’ll learn how to identify where the body is accumulating external toxins from the environment and how the body actually generates toxins internally as a result of metabolic pathologies.
David will explain how understanding these sources allows you to address the underlying causes safely and effectively. You’ll learn how, in both instances, the need to aggressively stimulate elimination is rare — instead, there are great benefits in working gently and consistently to support the body’s ongoing processes of natural detoxification.
This balanced approach is increasingly important, as most conditions that require detoxification are caused by ongoing exposure and ingestion, whether it be microplastics and other xenobiotic compounds in the food chain, or the intake of medically necessary prescription drugs.
In this first module, you’ll learn:

Environmental pollution is the largest cause of premature death and disability in the world today. Particulate matter from sources such as industrial pollution and wildfires is the primary toxin polluting the air.
A conglomeration of multiple toxins — including microplastics, heavy metals, and particulate matter — can cause pulmonary inflammation, leading to systemic damage that affects many organs and is estimated to account for over 7% of deaths globally.
Learn about the atmospheric toxins affecting millions of people, how they adversely affect the body, and how the respiratory system works to protect and detoxify itself.
David will share how particulate matter and its toxicity affect not only the lungs, but also directly affect the brain and heart, contributing to the worsening of underlying metabolic and chronic degenerative conditions.
You’ll explore the herbs that can be used for detoxification of acute respiratory illnesses, such as bronchitis and respiratory viral infections. You’ll then examine how you can safely use herbs, on both a daily and long-term basis, to enhance ongoing gentle detoxification of the lungs against the increasing levels of air pollution.
David will also share herbs and formulas from vast pharmacopeias of Traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicines that provide gentle support of respiratory immunity and detoxification of acute symptoms — along with specific plant compounds identified by modern research that can be used to target precise cellular detox processes.
In modules 2 & 3, you'll discover:

The human digestive system is continuously exposed to microbial and environmental toxins, and has been affected by a multitude of digestive ailments throughout history.
Learn about nutraceutical compounds that are now researched and confirmed to protect the macrophages of the digestive system, the first line of immunological defense against pathogens and toxins.
David will discuss the side effects that many prescription drugs cause in the digestive system, and share how you can slowly and safely reduce medications for Gastric Esophageal Reflux Disorder (GERD), one of the most common forms of toxicity in the upper GI tract.
You’ll explore some of the misunderstandings about the microbiome, such as the difference between medical parasitology and internet-based pseudo-parasitology, and the overuse of harsh, damaging, and unnecessary “cleanses.”
These modules will emphasize the gut-brain axis and how you can use the nervous system to detoxify the digestive system — and vice versa. You’ll explore herbs and formulas that can resolve digestive conditions through their detoxifying powers, and how to use these herbs for both short-term treatment of more acute symptoms, as well as long-term treatment for ongoing long-term, low-dose detoxification.
In modules 4 & 5, you’ll explore:

Recent analysis of human brain tissue has revealed an alarming trend: over the last eight years, there has been a 50% increase in micro and nano plastic particles in all samples, regardless of age or health condition.
There is substantial evidence that these particles and other toxins easily penetrate through the sinuses, as well as cross the blood-brain barrier from the lung-brain and gut-brain axes. It is also known that microplastic particles create a “corona” of heavy metals and microbial toxins that bind to the particles, transporting them into the brain and other organs, where they create inflammatory responses that ultimately lead to cell death.
Learn about the importance of using herbal medicine on an ongoing basis to protect the brain, and how to do that safely according to classical Asian medical lineages as well as up-to-date research on plant-derived compounds.
You will discover that herbs used traditionally for “clearing heat” are now confirmed as having “anti-inflammatory” powers, and therefore a new pharmacopeia of botanical nutraceuticals can be brought into our daily lives.
David will discuss the importance of microglia, the brain’s immune system, and the glymphatic system that detoxifies the brain during sleep, offering guidance on how to protect and support the functioning of both.
You’ll discover the potential side effects and withdrawal symptoms of medications that directly affect the brain and cognitive functions, including antidepressants and anti-anxiety drugs.
David will also share how mental and emotional states are often more rooted in the day-to-day activity of the gut, the “second brain,” than they are in past traumatic memories, and therefore can be resolved by correcting the inflammation affecting the gut-brain axis.
You’ll continue to practice mindful use of herbs, combined with meditation, to directly experience the power of plant medicine and how it can benefit your nervous system on an ongoing basis.
In modules 6 & 7, you’ll explore:

The liver is the body’s largest and most complex organ of detoxification and its functions affect every physiological process in the body, directly or indirectly.
The liver not only works to detoxify the increasing burden of xenobiotics from the outer environment, but also continually processes the normal physiological wastes of digestion and metabolism for elimination.
The liver and gallbladder are both harmed by excess, as well as inappropriate detoxification practices and products. Both organs require sensitivity and proper knowledge in order to detoxify safely and effectively, especially since there is an ongoing daily need.
Explore the gut-liver axis, which flows in two directions — from the GI tract into the liver, and then through the flow of bile back into the small intestine. You’lll learn about the cytochrome enzymatic pathways that are the basis of liver detoxification, and what is known about how herbs and medications can affect these processes — both positively and negatively.
You’ll delve further into the study of macrophages and how they are part of the hepatic immune system, how microplastics and xenobiotics are affecting these immune cells, and what we can do to support and strengthen them.
David will discuss the large pharmacy of herbs and formulas from various traditions that are beneficial in many different ways for liver and gallbladder health…
… and how integrated medicine can be used to protect against pharmaceutical drug toxicity. He’ll also cover the major forms of toxicity and inflammation that can afflict the liver and how to restore balance in the digestive system if the gallbladder has been removed.
In modules 8 & 9, you’ll discover:

The liver and lungs are not the only organs that suffer from environmental toxins — the heart is also directly affected by inhalation and ingestion of particulate matter, microplastics, heavy metals, and other toxins.
Air pollution is linked to heart disease and stroke, while microplastic particles are known to bind with cholesterol, further increasing the risk of developing arterial inflammation and blockage. As an endogenous toxin, cholesterol is a complex medical subject that frequently results in patients being put on statin medications prematurely or unnecessarily, sometimes with serious adverse reactions.
The lymphatic and cardiovascular are parallel circulatory systems, with the lymphatic being a major system of both immunity and detoxification. Supporting healthy lymphatic function and detoxification is crucial for reducing the impact of the xenobiotic toxins, as well as the complex inflammatory responses they create.
Learn about the damaging effects of xenobiotic toxins on the heart and cardiovascular system, how microplastics and particulate matter compound the risk of heart disease, and what herbs and nutraceuticals can reverse these conditions and protect the heart.
David will discuss the complexities of how statin medications are frequently prescribed without considering the full range of risk factors in each individual, how to determine whether these high-risk medications are actually needed or if natural approaches are sufficient, and how to support the body if they are needed.
You’ll learn about lymphatic cleansing herbs, both strong and mild, and how to use them in conjunction with researched nutraceutical compounds for enhanced immune support.
You’ll also look holistically at the relationships between the heart, liver, lungs, and digestive system, exploring herbs with dual functions that can protect the heart from toxins produced by other organs.
During a guided practice, you’ll experience how herbs combined with strong mental focus and visualization can potentize their benefits and direct their activities into the heart and lymphatic tissues.
In modules 10 & 11, you’ll discover:

The kidneys are major organs of detoxification. They are also vulnerable to the increasing burden of harmful compounds from the environment and food chain, including internally-generated toxins from Metabolic Syndrome, with epidemic levels of Chronic Kidney Disease caused by diabetes and hypertension.
Along with the liver, the kidneys are specifically affected by prescription medications, making it crucial to determine the lowest possible dose of the least number of drugs that are medically necessary for each individual.
You’ll delve deeper into xenobiotic compounds that affect the renal system, learning about Chronic Kidney Disease and its causes. You’ll examine how pharmaceutical drugs can contribute to this disease through chronic use of over-the-counter non-steroid, anti-inflammatory medications…
… and how to navigate through the decisions and discussions with doctors to find the minimum medically necessary doses.
You’ll deepen your exploration of the immune system, focusing on the macrophages of the kidneys and how to protect them from inflammatory responses to the burden of toxins.
David will share why it’s crucial that men do not ignore symptoms of Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy — and how herbal remedies can actually mask a chronic obstructive problem that can damage the kidneys.
You’ll also explore both simple and more complex treatments for chronic urinary tract infections — along with the causes of, and solutions to, the high incidence of Interstitial Cystitis, particularly in women.
As with previous modules, you’ll discover major categories of herbs — specifically for gently cleansing the kidneys — and formulas from classical Asian medical systems for reducing toxicity in the urinary system.
David will discuss important new knowledge about how detoxification works at a cellular level — how fat-soluble toxins are converted to water-soluble forms for excretion, and how herbs can support this process.
In modules 12 & 13, you’ll explore:

Thousands of manufactured chemicals are classified as endocrine-disrupting because they can interfere with hormone activity and the endocrine system. Many health conditions can be linked to endocrine-disrupting xenobiotics from the environment, such as those connected to microplastics.
These conditions are challenging and more common than many realize. They include Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), uterine fibroids, endometriosis, estrogen-stimulated cancers, depletion of testosterone, and lowered sperm counts.
Many foods and herbs also have well-known hormonal effects and are often used for their therapeutic benefits. However, the use of phytoestrogens (plant-based compounds with an estrogen-like effect on the body) is complex and confusing, frequently accompanied by conflicting information and opinions. They are generally regarded as protective and therapeutic against xenobiotic estrogens, but should be avoided in estrogen-stimulated cancers. The same is true for antiandrogens, the drugs and herbal compounds that reduce the levels or activity of androgen hormones within the human body.
You’ll study this complex topic from a holistic perspective, using the most current research to explore which herbs and nutraceuticals work best in which conditions — and which are best to avoid.
David will discuss the primary sources and types of endocrine-disrupting compounds, along with the most important categories of herbs and formulas that can be used for detoxification and protection.
You’ll also discover how traditional Asian medical systems complement molecular and biochemical studies, examining the most important formulas for the most common conditions and patterns of symptoms related to imbalances of estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone.
In modules 14 & 15, you’ll explore:

The musculoskeletal system is an excellent example of how internal and external toxins create inflammation, how inflammation creates further toxicity and pain, and how detoxification reduces both.
The musculoskeletal system is intimately connected to the health of the digestive system, and many find that a simple improvement in diet can detoxify the gut-muscle axis and reduce symptoms dramatically. This process can be greatly assisted with herbal medicines and nutraceuticals.
Many people also have toxic inflammation in their muscles, joints, and connective tissues following viral infections such as Covid, and/or vaccines. The musculoskeletal system is also one of the primary sites of the complex interaction between microbial infection and autoimmune inflammation, as often seen in Lyme disease.
In all these conditions, natural medicine can sometimes offer a complete cure, sometimes alleviate symptoms with minimal toxicity, or reduce the need for medications. If medications are needed, they can be integrated in a way that supports the body.
You’ll explore the dynamic interplay between the musculoskeletal system and digestive health, the role of the cardiovascular and lymphatic systems in detoxifying tissues, and how herbal medicine can be administered in numerous forms.
David will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of contemporary naturopathic and allopathic treatments for Lyme and rheumatoid arthritis, what classical Asian medicines offer, and the major categories of herbs and formulas that detoxify the muscles, joints, tendons, and ligaments.
In modules 16 & 17, you’ll explore:

This class is a review of the most important principles of detoxification, with emphasis on how you can integrate the teachings personally and professionally, and apply them for long-term use in practical, safe, and effective ways.
It will include a recap of the pharmacopeia of new herbs, formulas, and nutraceuticals that have been presented.
David will also share a summation of organ interrelationships and their roles in detoxification, the most significant toxins threatening human health, and the importance of cultivating a healthy relationship to living in an increasingly polluted and stressful world.
In this final module, you’ll review:
Which treatments can best address your health concerns? What’s working for you? What isn’t?
This is your opportunity for a personalized medical consultation with David. Your 60-minute session can be done by phone, video conference, or email.
Your consultation will be unique and personalized, and the topics you’ll discuss might include:

This video teaching from the Illuminated Herbalism Certification by David Crow explores how the interplay of mind, sense organs, and sense objects determines our physiological balance, vitality, and inner harmony — forming the true foundation of detoxification. You’ll discover how awareness of sensory prana, or life force, guides the flow of energy through the senses to shape our perception of both inner and outer reality, and how disruptions in this flow, known as Pragyaparad (transgressions against our true nature), can lead to imbalance and depletion. Through meditations on sensory prana and the “five flowers” — the heart’s opening to the sensory world — and through mindful use of herbs, foods, and oils to study the pranic qualities of taste, smell, sound, sight, and touch, you’ll learn to restore harmony between your senses and spirit. This deeply experiential practice illuminates the heart as the center of perception and the key to detoxifying not only the body, but consciousness itself.

In this video teaching from the Illuminated Herbalism Certification by David Crow, you’ll deepen your understanding of how to approach detoxification with balance, intelligence, and sustainability. You’ll explore the foundations of clinical-level self-care, addressing common conditions that require detoxification and how to establish realistic expectations and track progress through your unique herbal program. You’ll learn how to prevent dependency on repeated or ongoing detox protocols, discern when to focus on eliminating microbes versus strengthening terrain immunity (or both), and apply key principles for restoring health after repeated antibiotic or antimicrobial use. David also shares essential insights into positive and negative herb-drug interactions, and offers practical guidance for integrating simple, safe herbs and aromatics to support ongoing, gentle detoxification as part of a holistic lifestyle.
