Sometimes a single line of poetry wants more than to be read — it wants to be breathed, voiced, and felt until it becomes a living meditation inside you.
A phrase you repeat softly like a mantra. A tone you follow with your breath. A rhythm that gathers your attention and draws you inward.
And before you’ve had a chance to think, you’re no longer standing outside the moment analyzing it — you’re inside it, listening.
If you’ve ever struggled to sit still and quiet your mind… or felt like meditation asks you to work against your own nature… you’re not alone. Most of us were never shown that meditation can open through sound in a way that feels natural, expressive, and even blissful.
Internationally recognized sound healer and music therapist Christine Stevens has guided thousands of people, using music to cultivate inner peace, creative flow, and a deeper sense of connection.
In this 7-week live video course, she’ll weave this approach with the Radiance Sutras — drawn from the tantric text Vijnana Bhairava Tantra dating back to 800 AD and translated by Dr. Lorin Roche — and show you how to enter these sacred teachings through music.
Christine has carefully curated specific sutras for each module that illuminate music as a path of awakening — passages on rhythm, voice, vibration, and silence that you’ll experience directly through practices she’s designed specifically for this course.
You’ll take the sutras that resonate with you the most… speak them, sing them, stretch them into sound, accompany them with instruments, jam with them …
… and feel how they draw you into a more grounded, steady, and intimate relationship with your inner life.
Each week, you’ll explore a variety of sound modalities and the silence that follows — and learn how to use them when your mind is busy, your energy is scattered, or something inside you just feels off. The more turbulent the world becomes, the more essential it is to have a practice that helps you feel centered, replenished, and connected to something larger and more sustaining.
Christine will introduce a range of instruments and sonic textures, so this becomes a process of discovery. You might find yourself drawn to the pulse of a drum, the shimmer of bells, the openness of a flute, the resonance of strings, or the quiet familiarity of your own humming voice.
Any instrument will do, because this isn’t about copying someone else’s practice or learning music or poems.
It’s about discovering that you truly are the instrument — and knowing how to tune yourself so you can return to steadiness, clarity, and ease whenever you need it.
These practices can become a source of joy, creative renewal, and quiet delight — helping you feel more luminous, more fully yourself, and more intimately connected to the living pulse of life.

In this 7-week transformational course, Christine will guide you through the skills and wisdom you’ll need to use the Radiance Sutras as a musical meditation practice to steady your energy, sharpen your inner focus, and open into greater freedom and radiance.
You’ll connect with Christine and experience her teachings through livestreaming video via any connected device. This connection is easy to use and will enhance the impact of Christine’s transmissions. Can’t make it live? After each class, you can stream the video and audio recordings to enjoy anytime and anywhere at your convenience.
This course will feature LIVE teachings, interactive sessions, experiential practices, and Q&A with Christine. Each session will build harmoniously upon the previous ones, so you’ll develop a complete holistic understanding of the practices, tools, and principles you’ll need to use music, rhythm, and sacred text together in a way that helps your system settle and your inner life feel clearer, lighter, and more expansive.

The roar of joy that sets the worlds in motion
Is reverberating in your body
And the space between all bodies.
Beloved, listen. (Sutra 16)
You'll explore sound and music as pathways into instinctive meditation, creative expression, and delight - as you dive into Sutra 16 on Pranava (OM).
Through the power of musical play and improvisational jamming, Christine will help you bring the teachings of this sutra to life in what she calls the Sutra Jam - a practice that can awaken your divine creative energy and support non-attachment.
As you listen and respond, you'll find key words and phrases that resonate with you, making the sutra personal for your own life and practice. You'll feel inspired to include a daily toning practice with a new, embodied understanding of OM.
In this opening module, you'll:

Immerse yourself
In the rapture of music.
You know what you love
Go there. (Sutra 18)
What we listen to affects us, and when you play music, sing, or hum, it impacts your soul.
You'll explore a listening practice for connecting with bliss through music (sangit ananda), by identifying what you love and bringing personal preference into the foreground of listening.
Through the sound-healing practice of invocation highlighted in Sutra 107, Christine will guide you in calling in intention through sound, using a phrase or word from a sutra poem that resonates most deeply with you.
By the end of this module, you'll begin to better trust your own sonic guidance and playfully invoke your highest calling.
In this module, you'll:

Radiant One, the life essence carries on its play
Through the pulsing rhythm
Of outward and inward movement.
This is the ceaseless throb, the rhythm of life. (Sutra 2)
You'll explore three sutras that offer guidance through rhythm, dance, and drumming, revealing the polarities of movement and stillness and inviting you into embodiment as a path of divine awareness.
Whether you play a drum or not, Christine will remind you that we all have the inner drum of our heart - a rhythm we rode into existence.
Delving into Sutra 2, you'll enter the rhythm of life through breathwork, while Sutra 33 invites you to descend into the space between the beats.
Sutra 77 reminds us that the heart of the Universe pulses in all hearts, opening the way to a cosmic sense of oneness. Get ready to drum, dance, and awaken your radiance.
In this module, you'll:

Enter the bowl of vastness that is the heart.
Listen to the song that is always playing
Give yourself to it.
Quiet ecstasy is here. (Sutra 26)
Through vocal practices of seed syllable, mantra, and song, you'll explore three luminous sutras. Christine will guide you into this essential tool of awakening, because your voice is always with you - always available.
Some of this practice will be the outer expression of toning and chanting, and some will be the inward song you access through listening.
As Sutra 32 reminds us, "You are the instrument breath is playing." You'll be able to use your voice as meditation and as a way to enter the temple of divine awareness.
In this module, you'll:

Close the ears that track the outer world,
Open the ears of the soul.
Cherish the vibrating energies thus contained. (Sutra 91)
You'll discover what the sutras often call the great hum or the secret sound. Christine will guide you into this primordial shabda - the inner sound current that underlies all sound - through practices of resonance, reverberation, and awareness.
Through the one note practice, you'll discover the hum as a tool for integration as you move through the subtle, and sometimes terrifying, shifts of the spiritual path.
You'll also learn how to trust your intuition and sonic awareness. As you listen with the ears of the soul, you'll begin to guide your attention in a new way toward the unstruck chord of creation.
In this module, you'll:

Bodies feed on sound,
Nourishing every nerve.
Vibrations strengthen bones,
Vitalizing the cells. (Sutra 19)
You'll explore the buoyancy contained in healing sound and experience how resonance and rhythm can support your wellbeing.
Christine will guide you through sound healing shaped by personal preference, helping you create a practice that feels customized to your own life path.
As you taste different sonic accompaniments - from heavenly bells and flutes to the earthy sounds of drums and rattles - you'll learn how to choose instruments for your own sound bath, enabling you to enter the ebb and flow of sound waves for healing.
In this module, you'll:

Listen to the subtle, ever-changing tones
Discover what gradualness is.
The power of sound will lead you
Into the power of silence. (Sutra 17)
You'll explore silence as a superfood in a busy, cacophonous world.
Christine will guide you into the sutras' teachings on the silence that follows devotional chanting - a felt sense of resonance within that can open a deeper inner peace. You'll discover that everything holds silence - even the ocean tide has a moment of pause.
The sutras illuminate the powerful silence at the end of devotional chanting, and, through a chanting practice inspired by Yogananda, you'll learn how to dissolve sound into silence and experience the resonance within.
In this closing module, you'll:
When you register by 2026-05-05 11:59:00 pm , you’ll receive special bonus offerings designed to complement Christine ’s transformative 7-module course — and deepen your understanding and practice even further.

Dr. Lorin Roche - author and translator of The Radiance Sutras - shares key insights into the primordial seed syllable Om and the mantras that awaken the energy of joy. His audio teaching is accompanied by Christine on the Native American flute and Himalayan singing bowl, creating a rich, immersive listening experience. As you explore the Sanskrit meaning of this ancient sutra, you'll also feel the activation of your own inner sound stream, or shabda.

Join Christine on a sonic journey into your own inner sound, a source of radiance within you. She'll guide you to experience the drum of your heart - the first shamanic pulse of self-love - and also the spaciousness of the heart itself. As you listen to the song already resonating within, Christine's original meditation music, featuring Native flute, bouzouki strings, crystal chimes, and sansula kalimba gently supports the experience.

This collection of studio tracks created by Christine and Dan Cartamil is inspired by The Radiance Sutras by Dr. Lorin Roche. Each song draws from a different sutra, offering a musical doorway into the text's spirit, imagery, and energy. The album includes eight original tracks - from "Shine Forth" and "Current of Creation" to "Ceremony of Delight" - plus a bonus vocal meditation practice track with bouzouki and drone. Together, these pieces invite you to listen, reflect, and deepen your connection with the teachings through sound. 6\. Nowhere is More Holy Than This (Sutra 51) - 5.45 BONUS 9\. Vocal Meditation Practice Track with Bouzouki and Drone - 10.17

In this luminous video conversation, Dr. Lorin Roche describes sound and music as a powerful portal into instinctive meditation, weaving Sanskrit meaning with advanced mindful techniques. At its heart, this teaching offers a deeply reassuring invitation - to rest in the knowing that you belong here, and that you are home. [image1]:

Author and music therapist Christine Stevens was adopted into a Native American family by Uncle Manny Eagle Elk Council Pipe Sandoval in a Making-of-a-Relative ceremony — after spending more than a decade singing Lakota prayer songs, undertaking Hanbleceya (“Crying for a Vision,” one of the seven Lakota Sacred Rites), and becoming a pipe carrier for Women’s Way Long Dance, founded by Connor Sauer.
With the permission of her elders and respect for the Red Road ways of music medicine, she has played the Native American-style flute for more than 25 years, as well as percussion for sound healing, honoring Nature in sacred sites, from a Sedona vortex to the Grand Tetons.
She honors the wisdom keepers who passed down these rhythms, and ensures that each practice is taught with cultural sensitivity and integrity.
Christine is the author of The Nature Sutras, Music Medicine, and The Healing Drum Kit, and the founder of UpBeat Drum Circles, which brings drumming and sound healing to organizations and events dedicated to uplifting humanity. As an advocate of music and wellness, her media appearances include NBC, PBS, Discovery Health, and Living Better TV.
Christine, who has worked with Fortune 500 companies, survivors of disasters, and refugee women, serves as a Musical Ambassador of Peace. She led the first drum circle training for peace in northern Iraq and toured Japan with a music medicine approach to the Native American-style flute.
The host of Global Rhythm Sangha Online, she teaches a variety of online training programs, including Awaken Your Rhythm, which has served hundreds of people from over 35 countries. Most recently, her pilot study, the Global Tele-Music Therapy program, published in Music and Medicine, helped reduce pain, discomfort, and stress with enduring effects during COVID-19.
Christine’s commitment to love, beauty, and harmony, and the reciprocity of offering music to Nature continues to guide her sound-healing practice and courses with The Shift Network.
