11 Days of Global Unity Celebrates Our 11th Anniversary For a Culture of Peace and a Livable Future

Launched in 2004 by We, The World and global partners, 11 Days of Global Unity is now in its 11th year, bringing new partners together who are working for peace, sustainability and transformation. This year We, The World and 11 Days of Global Unity have become partners with Oprah Winfrey’s Belief Team which is holding Compassion and Healing events from September 11-21 in alignment with 11 Days of Global Unity and the International Day of Peace in advance of the October 18th debut of Oprah’s TV Series Belief.

Belief is an exploration of the power of our diverse belief systems, faith practices and cultural traditions that connect us to ourselves, sustain us through the most challenging times and bind us closer together in community with one another. The Belief Team is joining the Compassion Games, Hello From My Heart and many others whose annual actions and activities take place during 11 Days of Global Unity.

This year We, The World is excited to launch our Global Unity Calendar at www.GlobalUnityCalendar.org This unique calendar makes it possible for you to post your social change events and announcements all year long from anywhere worldwide within any of the 11 Global Unity Themes (see below) as well as other categories that you can choose or even create!

The Highlight of 11 Days this year is the 11 Days of Global Unity Tele-Summit, a collaboration of We, The World and the Shift Network. It is the final Summit of the Summer of Peace, which is a production of The Shift Network.

The 11 Days Summit 2015 features some of the most visionary thinkers and activists of our time, including Deepak Chopra, Eve Ensler, Patch Adams, Helen Caldicott, Rabbi Michael Lerner, Indigenous Grandmother Agnes Pilgrim, Ambassador Anwarul Chowdhury, Deborah Moldow and many others! On the Theme of HEALTH, Patch Adams, envisions, and has started to create, a truly compassionate health and wellness system based on six principles that could transform the practice of healthcare as we know it. For example, initial interviews with all new patients are 3-4 hours long.

On the Theme of UNITY, Deepak Chopra introduces an entirely new field of scientific study indicating that Human Consciousness may actually be driving Evolution! He makes the connection between individual compassion, health and collective wellness. And he leads a deep and extended guided meditation on Unity, Consciousness and Compassion.
