Immerse yourself in the powerful teachings and experiential practices of major mystical traditions, transmitted by renowned modern-day exemplars of the path of the mystic... to embody your true essence and activate sacred change in yourself and the world.

Gain profound skills that empower you to heal, lead, teach, and guide others into their own awakening and embodiment.

Light the way to a new possibility for humanity.

These are unprecedented times... of crisis and opportunity.

The world is undergoing a massive evolutionary shift and beckoning more insistently than ever for those who hear the call to evolve with it and step forward.

It’s clear that the problems we’ve created — climate change, political unrest, racial injustice — are causing tremendous suffering and despair. They’re all ultimately rooted in the belief that we’re separate from the Earth, the Divine, and others. Only a full reunion with our divinity can heal them.

This global dark night of the soul is calling all of us to open ever more deeply to the mystic within... to our Divine Consciousness... our innate oneness with all that is — the only thing that remains constant and true when all else falls away.

It’s from this place of sacred wisdom and divine grace that we can cultivate the clarity, compassion, vision, and inner strength to help transform these times into a healing, revitalizing rebirth that emerges from the death of our old ways.

As you ignite this awakening within yourself, you become far more skilled at helping others navigate the complexities and intensities that accompany a genuine spiritual awakening.

In other words, as you awaken, you not only blossom further into your authentic self... you also become more adept at helping midwife others through the same process. Whether you’re a coach, a minister, a healer, a therapist, or simply a sacred friend, you can help liberate others into their full mystical potential — as you cultivate your understanding of the full arc of awakening... and the deeper initiations required of a Global Mystic.

As the light turns on in us, it begins to ignite in others.

This is not a small or private thing. In fact, a critical mass of awake, embodied, and purposefully engaged change agents can deliver the Shift the planet now requires.

Becoming a Global Mystic is thus not just a matter of personal curiosity. It’s also an existential imperative.

The first-ever Shift Network Global Mystics Certification is a remarkable opportunity to answer this call — at a time when there’s no more time to wait.

It’s without a doubt the single most important training we’ve ever created and designed for those at the forefront of our spiritual and cultural evolution...

... because, as we each suffuse our hearts with luminous beauty, intelligence, and care, and clarify our minds with diamond discernment, we chart a path toward a new dawn on our planet — one in which we redesign our world based on the powerful wisdom of true pioneers.

When you rise to the call of actualizing your mystical self, you open the door to radical transformation. You dive deep into your inner well to discover and alchemize what’s stagnant, and liberate your most evolved and glorious self.

Grounded, compassion-filled, and wise, you prepare yourself to share your unique gifts with the world... to serve in a sacred and meaningful way.

In this journey, you’re likely to enhance your intuitive abilities. You can deepen your ability to discern what’s holding someone back, and amplify your soul’s voice to lead others forward.

As you see the world through divine eyes, you’ll be more equipped to intervene in a truly helpful way.

In this comprehensive and profoundly transformative certification program with renowned mystic scholars Andrew Harvey and Mirabai Starr, answering this call will open you to nothing short of an initiation — an unveiling, honoring, and embodying of your own divine possibility.

It will be an experiential immersion into the heart and soul of the global mystics — the blazing lights around the world who’ve left a legacy of transformed lives and societies. It will light the fire of your own awakened and embodied divinity. And it will give you tools as a healer, guide, minister, or change agent to lead others forward.

This is not a training for those who want surface platitudes, but for those who wish to stand naked in the truth, face the fires of radical change, and emerge with a new template for a divine humanity.

Having taught thousands of students in great depth, and touched hundreds of thousands more, Andrew and Mirabai have been two of our most inspiring, empowering, and rigorous guides into spiritual awakening.

This certification is the crowning jewel of their combined lifework, in which they’ve harvested the gold from every major lineage so we can truly design a radiant new possibility just when it’s needed most.

The journey with them includes the most extraordinary team of guest faculty and wisdom transmitters ever assembled — including Marianne Williamson, Caroline Myss, Matthew Fox, Krishna Das, Banafsheh Sayyad, Chloë Goodchild, Alexander Shaia, Dorothy Walters, Cynthia Jurs, Adam Bucko, Robert Ellsberg, Dana Sawyer, James Finley, Jamal Rahman, Zuleikha, Sean Murphy, Andrea Menard, Taj Inayat, Greta Ronningen, Rabbi Rami Shapiro, Jenny Bird, Melanie DeMore, Gina Breedlove, Ondrea Levine, Kaira Jewel Lingo, Nina Rao, Bayo Akomolafe, Ilia Delio, Brie Stoner, Tirzah Firestone, Anne Lamott, Ruth CunninghamJoan Chittister, and Mireya Alejo Marcet. (This list will be updated with additions as the program progresses.)

This program features a rigorous, interdisciplinary curriculum with teaching transmissions, experiential practices, integration sessions, small attunement group discussions, monthly elective sessions, and virtual community support — to immerse yourself deeply and compassionately in a profound experience of connection to the sacred and compassionate action.

Over the course of this astonishing adventure of heart, mind, and soul, there will be time, space, and profound sacred protection in which to bring to fruition personal and global changes you have yearned to make for years.

You’re likely to finally discover or refine what’s yours to do, whether it means sharing your mystical inspiration through visionary expression, being of service in a whole new way, expanding and enriching your professional offerings, or joining together with this cohort to start a revolution of love in action as a servant of this time of birth.

The Global Mystics Certification was designed with great care to help you cultivate courage, vulnerability, self-compassion, and a revitalized perspective unclouded by cultural conditioning and self-defeating beliefs and habits.

If you step fully into this opportunity, you will not emerge as the same person who entered. You are bound to experience a luminous transfiguration — many of your seemingly intractable patterns, the residue of past traumas, and illusions of separation dissipated.

And it will not be easy... the path of the mystic is one of rigor and commitment, yet it is also one of unbridled passion, unbounded love, and childlike wonder.

Your deepened connection to the Divine and your own truth will leave you more grounded, loving, compassionate, resilient, generous, creative, joyful, and fulfilled.

Every true mystic lights a flame in the hearts of others, so it’s inevitable that, as you step into your role as a Global Mystic, you’ll also transmit your awakening in service to the awakening of others.

The program will also leave you better prepared to make shifts and strides in your professional life that you haven’t yet achieved... to reach your truest and highest potential in serving others.

Ultimately, you’ll evolve alongside other mystical pioneers on the path, who know, as you do, that burning in the fire of divine love and embodying the transformative wisdom of the Mystery is the only way to truly prepare for what’s next... in your personal life and our larger world.

If you’re serious about realizing your full divine potential and being part of the vanguard of sacred change agents who are here to midwife the birth of a new era, this is THE program for you.

What Is a Mystic?

To be a mystic is to realize that you have Divine Consciousness... a contemplative awareness that enables you to have direct experiences of the sacred — to, in fact, experience all things as sacred.

It opens you to a loving, expanded view of life, humanity, and the Cosmos, and in its richest moments, gives you the capacity to connect so deeply with the Divine that you experience a visceral sense of your oneness with the One.

Being a mystic means seeing everything as an offering from the Divine. You perceive and experience both ecstasy and anguish as sacred, each a gift that brings you closer to fully experiencing and embodying Divine Consciousness.

You do not have to experience “visions,” channel sacred insights, or predict the future to live as a mystic.

When you open to the indwelling sacred presence, the “magical” is found in profound experiences of transformative love — which result in the impulse to care for all beings and creation.

I, you, he, she, we
In the garden of mystic lovers,
these are not true distinctions.
— Rumi

You experience the mystical self — your own true consciousness — in:

  • Moments of deep peace
  • Enjoyment of nature’s beauty
  • Profound connections with family and friends
  • Intimacy and sexual encounters
  • The joy of listening to music
  • Reading meaningful poetry
  • Dancing with total abandon
  • The rapture of a great meal
  • A relationship with a dear animal
  • Losing yourself in a creative project
  • Grieving a loss
  • Life challenges that bring you to your knees
  • Life accomplishments and milestones that cause elation
  • And many more of life’s spontaneous moments

Are you longing to live into the fields of grace that engender these experiences, to cultivate more of these experiences... for yourself and others?

Would you like to deepen, expand, embody, and step more fully into this mystical self?

Why Is the Way of the Mystic Such a Powerful Path for Personal & Global Evolution?

Your mystical self is your original blessing, your essential divine awareness, the part of you that is infinite and remains when all else — including your physical being — is gone.

To honor this blessing and choose the path of the mystic opens you to an abundantly rich spiritual, personal, and vocational life.

It connects you deeply to the unconditional love and wisdom of the Motherhood of God, helps you unveil and embody, ever more deeply, your authentic divine self, and awakens you to the sacredness in all of life — in the joyous, challenging, and mundane.

It is the unchanging nourishment the Light offers you that strengthens the whole of your being. You come to trust that this tender support is always there for you.

When you discover your mystical self, you uncover the courage to navigate life’s difficulties; the vast capacity of heart and piercing focus of mind to live more passionately, creatively, and fully; and the clarity and vital energy to step into what is yours to do... for your own evolution and that of your community and the greater world.

It is when you are in connection with your divinity and the reality that emanates from it that you can find your true purpose and feel supported.

In your professional life, this strong spiritual foundation allows you to step into your work with full integrity without compromising your Divine humanity — as you no longer feel the need to compartmentalize your mystical self. It helps you guide people with divine perception and sacred healing hands through their traumas, beliefs, and fears, and into the radiant truth of who they are.

On the path of the mystic you naturally become a change agent for others through your example, as your consistent and deepening connection to the Divine helps you cultivate groundedness, open-heartedness, and resilience.

When you choose this powerful path, you see everything in everyday life as secretly lit up by your Divine connection. You experience your life transformed, as you’ll no longer separate the holy from unholy.

Who Is This Program For?

There is a candle in your heart, ready to be kindled.
There is a void in your soul, ready to be filled.
You feel it, don’t you?
— Rumi

Embracing the mystic within is not a privilege for the chosen few, it’s a sacred gift available to all. Yet not all of us feel the call to step into the transformational fire of this core part of ourselves.

The path of the mystic — likened in Rumi’s lush poetry to a transformational encounter between lover and beloved — will call to you as a longing... a yearning to dispel the illusion of separateness between yourself and the Divine, yourself and others, and yourself and your own soul.

You will feel it burning in your heart, flaming forth in the many ways life urges you to open to more love, compassion, and joy...

...to live life fully, deeply, and consciously, and to have the grace and fortitude to share your awakening with the world through the gifts that are uniquely yours to give.

You are called to join this profound journey, if:

  • You’re aware of the awakening mystic within you and want to ground in and expand this profound awareness
  • You’re a healing practitioner, spiritual teacher, or life coach who wants to explore the teachings of the mystics across the world’s great spiritual traditions and connect with your own deepest mystical self — and you know that this will subsequently enrich and expand the service you provide others
  • You’re passionate about exploring mysticism, yet have felt lonely in your solo quest and crave the support and compassion of a community of like-minded seekers
  • You seek to cultivate profound friendships and partnerships rooted in spiritual awareness and capable of nourishing and catalyzing transformation
  • You’d like to enhance your creative process (in any and all capacities), infusing it with the clarity, passion, and creativity inherent in deep connection with your own divinity
  • You want to deepen your self-healing powers to dissipate the effects of trauma, anxiety, addiction, divisiveness, or meaninglessness, and open to your true purpose
  • You’re wondering how to of be of service in the world and sense that the path of the mystic can help open you to this wisdom
  • You’re awake to the world’s crises and want to cultivate strength to rise to these challenges as a sacred activist for our time
  • You’re currently an activist in the world and want to cultivate a stronger contemplative foundation — aware that to be truly effective, your efforts must come from the deep self not the ego
  • You’re experiencing a “dark night of the soul,” know this is a time ripe for transformation, and can benefit from the inspiring teachings of the mystics and fertile womb of a spiritual community
  • You’re rooted in a particular spiritual tradition yet curious about other wisdom traditions and excited about embarking on an interspiritual quest that exposes you to mystical teachings from around the world

The Global Mystics Certification has been carefully designed to guide you in stepping into the alchemical fire of this highly transformative time to actively engage the personal and collective evolution we’ve been propelled into.

What Are the Primary Teachings of This Program?

The Global Mystics Certification will expertly guide you to create your own robust and sacred container in which to receive the profound teachings of history’s prophets of love, and become a Global Mystic yourself.

The lives of both ancient and modern mystics from spiritual traditions around the globe will be explored like maps charting the stations of awakening to provide an expanded understanding of their teachings and evoke a visceral personal experience of the transfiguration process.

Teaching transmissions of the mystic’s journey will be presented in a format inspired by the metaphorical “singing of a new song” — a joyous new way of being and serving in the world — and accompanied by supportive experiential practices that enliven and enrich the arc of transformation.

These will include deep immersion in the art, music, writings, history, and poetry from major mystical traditions, as well as group chanting and guided meditations, and time and space for contemplative practice and self-exploration.

This sacred journey into deep communion with the Divine and embodiment of one’s truest and most sacred essence will prepare you to serve as a sacred activist — to integrate these mystery teachings into everyday life.

The Structure of the Program

Your expert faculty have created one of the most in-depth, transformative learning experiences The Shift Network has ever offered...

There will be a total of 10 primary units, each lasting one month. And we’ll have two professional elective units during the personal integration period — designed to empower you with key skills. We recognize that the personal awakening and the professional skills are complementary for you to be an effective agent of change.

There will be a 120-minute online video class every week taught by Andrew and Mirabai together or in solo format by one of them. This will include weekly breakout sessions providing a supportive environment for small group discussions.

There will also be two 90- to 120-minute online video Integration Sessions each month with Andrew or Mirabai as part of the core curriculum, providing an opportunity for deep listening, further immersion in the week’s teachings, face-to-face connection with faculty and fellow students, and introduction of additional experiential elements or practices to enrich your learning experience.

What can you expect from the weekly primary classes?

Every class will begin with an introduction and a centering practice, which will help to ground and prepare you for the depth and intensity of the teachings ahead.

You’ll also be guided in core practices designed to help you awaken and evolve as a devoted, ecstatic, and grounded lover of the Divine. There will be time for Q&A in each weekly class, as well.

Throughout the year, you’ll also be invited to attend online workshops on mysticism-related topics — two or more Elective Teachings offered per month presented by guest faculty.

These 2-hour Elective Teachings will be hosted by Andrew or Mirabai and will supplement and personalize your year-long experience as you choose what most interests you.

Two live online video Attunement Groups will be held each month with a group of other participants. You’ll work with your small group throughout the year to integrate the material you’re learning, and make supportive and dynamic connections with other dedicated participants on the same intensive journey as you. Attunement Groups are where you can have more personalized discussions and experiences, and practice embodying the teachings.

Each Attunement Group will be led by a guide or facilitator that has a depth of professional experience in studying and working with mysticism and spiritual evolution — many of whom have studied extensively with Andrew and/or Mirabai. All are dedicated to creating an environment of exploration and belonging through presence, compassion, and a spirit of inquiry and discovery.

The three levels of experiential learning you’ll undergo are embodiment, transfiguration, and sacred activism.

Finally, there are three professional skills training electives:

  1. Facilitating Spiritual Emergence with Mireya Alejo Marcet

This elective will feature three teaching sessions with insights, practices, and skills to help you navigate, support, and further understand the process of spiritual emergence — and working with Holotropic states in your own process and in your guidance of others. The careful attention you give to these experiences allows you to digest, embody, and apply the insights and lessons learned to your daily life, potentializing the experience. Guided by one of the most senior Holotropic Breathwork® leaders in the world, Mireya Alejo Marcet, you’ll learn:

    • Session 1
      • Grof Cartography of the Psyche — A wider map of the human psyche that includes perinatal and transpersonal experiences
    • Session 2
      • Principle of the Inner Healer — An inherent part within our psyche that understands the best way for process and circumstances to unfold… and how to work with it
      • Principles of mirroring and amplification that help release trauma and patterns in the psyche that surface
    • Session 3
      • Integration and expressive arts therapy — Ways to use expressive arts therapy for a deeper and more embodied integration of spiritual emergence and expanded states
  2. Spiritual Companionship: Principles and Practice with Rev. Seifu Anil Singh-Molares

Spiritual companionship, also referred to as spiritual direction, is a key modality on the spiritual path. Navigating the mystical path can be a scary and dangerous proposition, and it helps immensely to have trained companions to support and sustain us... and be mirrors to us as we unfurl our own spiritual connection. The evolution of your spiritual life has import regardless of how you apply that awareness — whether in the world of business, healthcare, as a calling unto itself, or in countless other fields. In this elective with Rev. Seifu, you’ll learn:

    • The history and background of spiritual companionship
    • What a spiritual companion is, and why it’s so important to have one in your spiritual journey
    • Examples of spiritual companions and spiritual directors across the ages... and in our times
    • The first 7 hallmarks of a spiritual companion, across faith traditions and spiritual orientations
    • The second 7 hallmarks of a spiritual companion, across faith traditions and spiritual orientations

This elective will also include interactive dialogue, discussion, and synthesis.

  3. Midwifing Death & Dying with Dr. Joanne Cacciatore

This 3-hour training will be hosted by Mirabai Starr, who has had her own profound initiations into death and dying. Every birth is also a death to one phase of existence. The skills learned and honed by death doulas are profoundly important for you as a Global Mystic, because you’ll be helping people understand and navigate some of the greatest transitions they may ever face. This global dark night of the soul will itself result in profound transformations that all humanity must go through.

And, we’ll have one special session each month (beginning mid-program) called the Change Agents Spotlight, in which YOU and your fellow students will be featured. Each month, we’ll select people from the Global Mystics community to share their insights about how to become a change agent for others. How do we each midwife the birth of a new humanity? This spotlight involves learning from the examples of others.

In short, we want you to be well prepared to not only undertake your own journey of illumination and embodiment, but also to develop more skillful means to empower others. That’s how the participants in this program will become force multipliers for the good... by co-creating a global movement of awakened mystics, healers, and guides.

So, are you feeling a resounding call to commit to this unprecedented journey into your own divinity... to become a more authentic, loving, and resilient human being, ready to serve as a sacred activist in whatever way you are called?

Unit 1: The Song of Longing — The Way of Passion Opening Us to Mystical Union

When a great mystical poet like Kabir or Lalla cries out to God, our own hearts spontaneously resonate. The poem carries the fragrance of that which we secretly yearn for: a dissolving into love, a reprieve from separateness, a return to our birthright of belonging to the Beloved.

We begin our journey across the mystical landscape by reclaiming this longing — stepping beyond cynical cultural perceptions that dismiss spiritual passion and religious communities and suggest that devotion is “immature” consciousness — to nurture this smoldering within us.

We will immerse ourselves in the mystical writings of such master poets as Rumi, Kabir, Mirabai, Lalla, Rabia, Hadewijch, Mahadeviyakka, John of the Cross, and Chuang Tzu, permeating our hearts and tenderizing us for the rigorous and embodied voyage ahead.

During Unit 1, you’ll:

  • Understand passion not as an emotion, but as a primordial hunger to be ever more united to love
  • Understand the necessity of deepening and expanding passion at every stage of awakening to continuously evolve in the mystery of love
  • Start to compile a collection of the most beautiful and evocative mystical poetry across the spiritual traditions: Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam
  • Identify key themes in the poetry of the mystics, such as fire, wine, gardens, and music, and explore their meaning on your own path
  • Develop a practice of writing your own mystical poetry
  • Develop a practice of composing your own prayers
  • Learn how to embrace the paradox of devotion and nonduality
  • Discover how to heal the demonization of emotions
  • Experience practices for focusing on embodiment
  • Experience practices for focusing on beauty
  • Discover insights for deconstructing static notions of religious hierarchy and enlightenment
  • Learn sacred chanting from multiple spiritual traditions

Unit 2: The Song of Surrender — The Way of Adoration as a Radical Offering of the Whole Self

The urge to adore God as Beloved expresses itself across the spectrum of spiritual traditions.

In Hinduism, it is Bhakti Yoga, the path of devotion, manifested in song; ceremony; ritual offerings of flowers, fruits and fire; and homage to statues of deities and pictures of gurus.

In Christianity, it is known as Bridal Mysticism, in which we find mystics like Teresa of Ávila and the Beguines addressing God as the most intimate companion. In Sufism, theUnnamable Holy One has 99 names — the favorite being Beloved.

Each of these wisdom ways emphasize practices that cultivate surrender, such as fire ceremonies and physical prostrations. By laying ourselves at the feet of the Divine, we get out of our own way and allow the Beloved to continuously awaken us anew.

In fostering intimacy with the Holy One, any meaningful distinction between the one who adores and the One being adored dissolves to reveal the greatest miracle of all: that we are one with the One, and always have been, and ever shall be.

During Unit 2, you’ll:

  • Understand surrender not as capitulation but as the most radical offering of your whole self to Reality
  • Recognize devotion as the ultimate gift of the Divine Feminine
  • Explore the Bhakti tradition in Hinduism
  • Explore Bridal Mysticism in Christianity
  • Explore the Song of Songs in the Hebrew Scriptures
  • Explore fana and baqa in Sufism
  • Experience multiple modes of relating to Ultimate Reality, such as Friend, Lover, Spouse, Parent, Sibling, and even Child
  • Experiment with physical postures as experiences of surrender
  • Learn Hindu and Buddhist mantras, as well as sacred phrases in Latin, Greek and Hebrew
  • Practice the Jesus Prayer from the Christian Orthodox tradition
  • Build an altar and allow it to grow and change over the course of our year together

Unit 3: The Song of Dissolving — The Way of Unknowing as the Path to Infinite Love & Real Transformation

A central truth of the path to mystical awakening is that we can only know by unknowing.

The moment we think we’ve figured out the nature of the Divine and the best methods for attaining enlightenment, we cut ourselves off from true realization and real transformation.

All the conceptual constructs we erect as scaffolding to climb up to God — using materials inherited from our parents or scavenged from religious communities we joined as adults — must be deconstructed if we hope to have a direct experience of the sacred.

Unknowing allows us to infinitely expand into infinite love, and once we have met the God of love, we fire all the other gods.

Having cultivated a personal willingness to be annihilated in love, we bring a courageous heart into the collective field, serving as exemplars for facing the unknowability of reality in a time of global crisis, even as we step up — body, mind, and soul — to co-create a better world.

Modeling what it is to abide in a state of radical unknowing allows us to help others stay open, in the midst of crushing circumstances, to the possibility of solutions we may not have dreamed of — or even to miracles.

During Unit 3, you’ll:

  • Open yourself to “dying before you die,” to become one with the One
  • Be willing to release every shred of personal identity and preconceived concept of God
  • Explore the difference between apophatic and cataphatic modes in Christian mystical theology (and why this is ultimately a false distinction)
  • Explore key spiritual texts that show us how to walk through the darkness, such as John of the Cross’ Dark Night of the Soul, the Holy Qur’an and Ibn Arabi, women mystics across the traditions, and the Tao Te Ching
  • Discover why, for the mystics, what you perceive as darkness is actually boundless radiance, and how you can develop the capacity for perceiving that light directly
  • Learn the Buddhist teaching of Sunyata
  • Explore Desert Spirituality, including the Desert Mothers and Fathers, Cloud of Unknowing, the Hindu goddess Kali and other archetypes of sacred annihilation
  • Become familiar with key insights of quantum physics as a model for understanding mystical truths

Unit 4: The Song of Oneing — The Way of Nonduality to Dissolve Illusory Dualities & Become One With That Which We Adore

The 14th-century anchoress, Julian of Norwich — who lived through multiple rounds of the plague that swept through Europe in the Middle Ages and eradicated a vast swath of the human population — had a Near Death Experience that revealed to her the Divine Love permeating All That Is.

In further revelations, she arose from a series of mystical “Showings” and coined the term “Oneing” to evoke the reciprocal longing between the soul and God.

A central paradox of the mystical path is that, ultimately, that which the soul most deeply yearns for is who we truly are. The distinction between lover and Beloved naturally melts in the warmth of Love Itself. We are “oned” with that which we had previously adored.

We find this vision of oneing at the core of all non-dual mystical traditions, including Advaita Vedanta, Mahayana Buddhism, Taoism, and Kabbalah.

During Unit 4, you’ll:

  • Study the “Showings” of Julian of Norwich as a model of reciprocity between our souls and the Divine

Unit 5: The Song of the Unfinished Adventure — The Way of Evolution as a Birthing Ground for an Embodied Divine Humanity

Humanity is mired in a vast and comprehensive evolutionary ordeal, a global dark night. The deepest guidance to the meaning and potential of this unprecedentedly ferocious process is to be found in our greatest evolutionary mystics — Sri Aurobindo, The Mother, Satprem, Teilhard de Chardin, Beatrice Bruteau, Bede Griffiths.

What these mystics understand and reveal is that this global dark night is the potential birthing ground of an embodied divine humanity, empowered through dying into divine life to become conscious co-creators — with the Divine — of a new world.

The astounding promise this extreme crisis is opening to us is a radical regeneration of humanity, and it is not possible without us plunging into these mystics’ brave and pioneering visions and integrating them fully.

Evolutionary mysticism is not just one more delicious dish in the restaurant of mystical experience — it is the key to our survival and transformation.

This unit will concentrate on these six themes:

1. The 8 laws of evolutionary mysticism that differentiate it from the traditional mysticisms of transcendent salvation or liberation and now need to be integrated into traditional mysticisms.
2. The crucial role in evolutionary mysticism of an expanded and complete vision of the nature of the Motherhood of God and Her endlessly dynamic transfiguring powers.
3. The nature of our global dark night as a Kali event, both unprecedently destructive and potentially unprecedentedly creative — if we can embrace it and allow ourselves to be transformed by it.
4. Evidence, testimony, and descriptions of the powers of consciousness and qualities of the divine human as experienced by those who, as pioneers, have been birthed into it.
5. Visions of the kind of world a transfigured humanity could create with the Divine and rooted in our own divinity.
6. Evolutionary practices that enable us to work directly with the Mother side of God to activate the next stage of human evolution.

During Unit 5, you’ll:

  • Gain a radical understanding of the global dark night as an evolutionary birthing process
  • Open to a profound awakening to the dynamic hopeful nature of evolutionary mysticism drawn from major mystical traditions
  • Gain awareness of the laws that govern evolutionary mysticism
  • Gain awareness of the “process” that evolutionary mysticism activates and makes possible
  • Cultivate expanded knowledge and awe at the all-transforming powers of the Mother side of God
  • Understand the meaning and purpose of the worldwide radiant epidemic of Kundalini experiences
  • Learn empowering practices to help you experience the truth of evolutionary mysticism in your heart, mind, soul, and body

Unit 6: The Song of Tantra — The Way of Conscious Intimacy as Direct Communion With the Divine

It is no accident that almost every spiritual tradition borrows the language of romantic love to express the soul’s desire for union with God. Many cosmological stories describe a state of original oneness, followed by a rupture, accompanied by a burning yearning, and ultimately leading lover and Beloved back into union.

A sense of inherent disconnection plays out on the field of human relationships in which we naturally seek wholeness through each other, and yet must eventually be willing to activate the erotic energy of our intimate bonds as the fuel to return to our divine source.

To consciously and intentionally approach human love — both in romance and friendship — as an expression of mystical devotion, galvanizes our physical relationships and clears the channels for direct connection with the Divine.

We see beautiful examples of this divine and human communion among such iconic pairings as Jesus and Mary Magdalene, Francis and Claire of Assisi, Ramakrishna and Sarada Devi, Shams and Rumi, and Ruth and Naomi.

During Unit 6, you’ll:

  • Reclaim the holiness of your body
  • Explore sensuality as a doorway to intimacy with the Divine
  • Learn how to place special emphasis on the sacred feminine in all your relationships
  • Learn how to harness the energy of all your embodied experiences as a catalyst for spiritual awakening
  • Explore sacred androgyny as an expression of mystical wholeness
  • Commit to your love relationships as a “yoga” or path to union, with all its complexities and challenges, shadows and sweetness
  • Understand the ancient path of Tantra as more than the sexual technique sold in the spiritual marketplace, but rather a potent and embodied practice of liberation
  • Learn from shamanic traditions how to enter into sacred relationship with animals and the earth
  • Explore different models of spiritual friendship, including Anam Cara in the Celtic tradition

Unit 7: The Song of Death & Dying — The Way of Rebirth Into a Realm of Boundless Awareness & Infinite Freedom

The mystical traditions all testify in different but related ways of relating to death without illusion or fear. Contemplation of death initiates us into the truth of impermanence and acts as a sublime catalyst to incarnate deathless consciousness. This perspective blesses grief as a sacred state to be honored, rather than a pathology to be treated.

Death itself, the great mystics tell us, offers a supreme opportunity for liberation and a birth into a realm of infinite empowerment and freedom from which you can help the world more inspiringly and effectively.

In the global dark night we’re experiencing — the Covid pandemic, racial violence, and environmental disasters — death is around us on all levels, psychic, spiritual, and physical... and such challenges will continue to plague us.

Learning how to steady and prepare ourselves and others for this by understanding through grace death’s deepest meanings, processes, and possibilities will be essential for all those on the authentic mystical journey.

Drawing on Tibetan, Buddhist, Christian and Islamic mysticism, as well as hospice experience and practice and modern research into Near Death Experiences, this Unit will concentrate on five themes:

1. How to prepare for your own death, drawing sacred inspiration from the deaths of great mystics and masters such as Rumi, Jesus, Elizabeth of the Trinity, Thérèse of Lisieux, and Anandamayi Ma.
2. How to help yourself and others when dying to die the most peaceful and transformative death possible, and how to sit with others when they are dying, receptive to the mystical power of the process you witness with no agenda and in deep surrender.
3. How to prepare by understanding what happens to consciousness during the death process and in the bardo realms that unfold after it.
4. How to help others by accompanying them with sacred practice through the death process and how to help them after death.
5. How to align with the five laws of the global dark night death/rebirth process to birth deathless Divine Consciousness and so prepare both for physical death and the potential future birth of a new humanity.

During Unit 7, you’ll:

  • Learn the enlightened attitude toward death as birth-into-oneness to welcome and embrace the experience fearlessly
  • Learn how to be and act around the dying to make their transition as luminous as possible and to be present to grief and loss as sacred initiations
  • Learn about the stages of the death process from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition and others
  • Discover practices to liberate the dying and help their journey after death
  • Discover the 5 laws of the dark night death/rebirth process drawn from the shamanic, Christian, and Islamic traditions to help yourself and others align with its divinizing potential

Unit 8: The Song of Transfiguration — The Way of the Sacred Marriage as the Most Balanced & Transformative Vision of Divine Reality

Recovery of the vision of the sacred marriage and the fullest enactment of its possibilities is the key to the birth of a new humanity.

Drawing on the major mystical traditions and the latest cutting-edge discoveries of quantum physics, this unit will present the sacred marriage of transcendence and immanence as the most comprehensive, balanced, and transformative vision of divine reality.

There can be no sacred marriage, however, without the most complete restoration possible of the Sacred Feminine in both its light and dark aspects, the full return in all Her glory and power, and radical passion for equality and justice of the Divine Mother.

This essential return also transforms our understanding of the Sacred Masculine and heals the disassociation and destructive lust for power and domination that the masculine unillumined by the feminine inevitably fosters.

The authentic sacred marriage — of transcendence and immanence, masculine and feminine, heart and mind, soul and body, deep mystical truth and sacredly inspired action — offers humanity three related transformations essential for the birth of the new divine human:

1. The transfiguration of humanity into embodied divine humanity.
2. Direct access to vast new powers of wisdom, passion, compassion, and radiant energy.
3. A new fusion of mystical awareness and sacredly inspired action.

During Unit 8, you’ll:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the sacred marriage, drawing from Taoist, Hindu, Buddhist, Islamic, Christian, and Jewish traditions
  • Discover the 10 laws of the returning Divine Mother
  • Learn the 9 linked revolutions of life that the sacred marriage makes possible
  • Gain an understanding of the new empowered Divine Feminine
  • Discover the authentic harmonized Sacred Masculine as protector, warrior, and lover in service of justice and environmental health
  • Learn the latest discoveries about the unified field revealed by quantum physics
  • Discover the power of focused intention to dance with and direct its potentially boundless creativity
  • Discover the Jesus and Mary Magdalene relationship that mirrors the sacred marriage and births the authentic embodied Christ Consciousness
  • View the sacred marriage of Jesus and Mary as a universal template for understanding the 4-part path to transfiguration inspired by Christian, Islamic, Buddhist, Taoist, and Hindu traditions

Unit 9: The Song of the Prophet — The Way of Sacred Activism for Revisioning & Recreating Our World

Our apocalyptic and amazing times call for a shift in our understanding and formulation of both mysticism and activism. The regenerative force that could transform our world is a dynamic marriage of the best of both, and it’s called Sacred Activism.

Sacred Activism marries on every level the noblest passion of the mystic (union with the Divine) with the noblest passion of the activist (justice) to birth a third force that can transform seemingly hopeless and intractable situations.

We have seen this third force in action in the lives and practice of Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Jane Goodall, and many others. And it is perhaps the only force on a globally inspired scale that can give humanity the wisdom and strength to rise to its evolutionary challenges and turn them into radiant possibilities for revisioning and recreating our world.

Everyone is now being called to discover and enact their own gifts and lives — the resources of their soul’s prophetic calling — to become warrior midwives of a new world of love in action.

During Unit 9, you’ll:

  • Discover the definition and transformative power of Sacred Activism
  • Learn the 5 passions of service that need to be lived by the sacred activist
  • Learn how to discover your own unique prophetic calling
  • Discover the 5 shadows of the dark night process that threaten to sabotage the sacred activist
  • Learn the 5 kinds of sacred practices that build passion, compassion, strength, and wisdom in the sacred activist
  • Discover the 7 laws of sacred action drawn from the major mystical traditions
  • Learn how to create and sustain networks of grace that help sustain you and others in your prophetic calling
  • Discover how to cultivate joy in the core of your whole being to give you the passion and strength to keep going and pour yourself out in service to whatever happens

Unit 10: The Song of Awe — The Way of Nobility to Embolden Us to Meet Chaos With Peace, Grace, Fearlessness & the Passion to Be Transformed

Your soul is a royal eagle. Listen, the king is whistling for you.
— Rumi

To live the life of the embodied soul is to live in nobility — to live consciousnessly and with radical commitment to the beauty of compassion and justice.

While there is a tremendous possibility of the birth of a new humanity through our global dark night process, it is not certain. The extinction crisis that is now clearly exploding may very well continue.

Facing this without illusion or magical thinking requires from us unprecedented courage. It also calls for a capacity for awe that can initiate us into the wisdom of unknowing and nobility of heart, mind, and purpose — the crowning glory and transmission of the world’s mystical traditions.

In this last unit, we will explore the meaning, price, and reward of this awe-inflamed nobility. We’ll look at how the major mystical traditions embrace nobility and embolden us to meet the ordeals ahead with grace, peace, fearlessness, and the passion to transform our whole being in service to the birth of a new humanity.

During Unit 10, you’ll:

  • Discover the initiation that awe makes possible, and how embracing unknowing prepares you for both endless growth and to receive potential solutions to our crisis from realms beyond our current understanding
  • Discover the deepest meaning of mystical nobility, drawing on the poetry of Hadewijch of Antwerp, Rumi, Kabir, Rabia and other fearless, majestic mystics
  • Gain inspiration from examples of nobility in action, drawn from the Hebrew prophets, Jesus, the Prophet Mohammed, and the greatest women mystics of the human family
  • Discover the tradition of mystical chivalry in Christianity and Islam and the vision of the Bodhisattva in Mahayana Buddhism
  • Learn the ways in which suffering the trauma and grief of our crisis and dark night can increase our awe of God and passion for the beauty of life
  • Gain awareness of how trauma, karma, and inherited self-loathing and denigration block you from enacting your soul’s innate, noble splendor
  • Learn practices to sustain yourself and others in nobility to seed the birth of a new humanity

“I now have what I need to continue my journey.”

Over the last two years I have discovered the wonderful wisdom of Mary Magdalene. I wanted and needed more understanding, exploration, and teaching. I am so thankful to have found this course. It is the follow on for the finding of Mary Magdalene bringing completeness to my spiritual understanding and direction. I feel that I am on my path now and feel able to follow the written guidance and teachings. More importantly I have found what was missing for me in my spiritual journey and I can now continue the deep work within me now that I have guidance and direction that I need. I am so grateful to Andrew Harvey for sharing his learning, his experiences, and so eloquently allowing me to stop searching for my path and awakening in me that part of my soul I have been trying to, yet had been afraid to, open up for so long. I now have what I need to continue my journey. With love and gratitude, I thank you.
— Brenda, United Kingdom

“Having the course and the community of like-minded souls was very powerful.”

I was most comforted when Andrew connected our present-day world with his teachings about the very real experience we are in — the dark night of the soul, and we are all called to bring in the light. It was very uplifting to listen to Andrew’s passion about just that. Having the course and the community of like-minded souls was very powerful. I highly recommend taking courses from The Shift Network. This was my second, and the quality and content are impeccable.
— Nancy Gordon, San Diego, California

“The exercises acted as a nutcracker to my parched soul, opening and expanding me.”

This course opened vistas of the human mind and body that I had previously heard of in lectures on quantum physics, but had not personally experienced. The exercises acted as a nutcracker to my parched soul, opening and expanding me.
— Christine, Apple Valley, Minnesota

“I received deep insights into mystics and wise people I’d barely heard of before...”

I received deep insights into mystics and wise people I’d barely heard of before, which furnished my thinking as an environmental activist and spiritual teacher. Andrew’s detailed and powerful transmission of their works has nourished my soul and broadened my knowledge and understanding of the age we are living through. I also met some extraordinary people in the breakout rooms and sharing group.
— Candida van Rood, Crib Point, Australia

“The teachings and practices we received are soul food for years to come.”

Andrew Harvey is a masterful teacher and an enlightened soul — his light-warrior energy was palpable even through a computer screen. I am still only beginning to integrate the incredible depth of this course into my own spirituality. The teachings and practices we received are soul food for years to come.
Emily, Los Angeles

“This course helped me discover that I can indeed grow spiritually and progress as a human being without the help of or reference to organized religion.”

This course helped me discover that I can indeed grow spiritually and progress as a human being without the help of or reference to organized religion. For me, this was very liberating. The mystical teachers we studied in this course were primarily materialists who were seeking a path for humanity’s evolution into a species more attuned to the power of the universe and our place in it. Through very powerful messages and practices, Andrew showed us the way and laid out a series of maps and insights to guide us on our journey. Thank you, Andrew, for your generosity and for walking the talk through the example of your life.
— Erick Myers, Brussels, Belgium

“Andrew Harvey’s presence and teachings feel like having a lifeline attached.”

This course with Andrew Harvey gave me the absolutely essential support required to take the dive into the deepest layers of collective consciousness. Bringing the light of our awareness into these deepest darkest realms is crucial right now; it is awareness that is needed to affect these places that have not moved, giving the ability for change and healing on the deepest, most fundamental levels. It takes a certain amount of trust to go into these realms. Andrew Harvey’s presence and teachings feel like having a lifeline attached.
— Patty, Petaluma, California

Patriarchal ways, in society and my religion, were feeling somewhat oppressive. The mediation, poetry, and information shared on women mystics and goddesses took you to a deep stillness inside. My mind was not overwhelmed and during the week I could read a chapter in her book. Thank you for being you. I turned an outside cabin into my temple, finding sanctuary there every day. Walking outside in the predawn light is magic. The practice of sabbath transformed me, thank you.
— Kaye, Dixon, Australia

“Within myself, I feel more grounded and deeply connected to Mother Earth.”

What was most special was the writing prompts and the sharing during the breakout group with people from around the world. Within myself, I feel more grounded and deeply connected to Mother Earth. It was simply wonderful to learn about the goddesses and mystics, and Mirabai provided an excellent introduction and opened the doors to them. More Praise for Andrew Harvey...

“... the light he sheds is like a meteor burst across the inner sky.”

Every age has its teachers who keep the eternal truths alive for all of us. And when a generation is very, very lucky, it encounters a teacher so illumined that the words he delivers must be illumined as well. In the case of Andrew Harvey, the light he sheds is like a meteor burst across the inner sky.
— Marianne Williamson, author of Everyday Grace

“Andrew gives us a clarion call to go beyond admiration to activation...”

When the heart explodes in conscious oneness with the Beloved, what remains is a burning desire to be a servant to the One that enlivens all sentient beings, every speck of space. Andrew gives us a clarion call to go beyond admiration to activation of that same capacity within our own hearts so that we too may become a beneficial presence on the planet.
— Michael B. Beckwith, author and founder of the Agape International Spiritual Center

“... it just might save our skins.”

[Andrew] Harvey’s Sacred Activism is a corrective to the doomsayers and do-nothings who are part of our problems. He is a modern version of a fiery Old Testament prophet whose words were ignored at great peril. We must attend to Andrew Harvey’s message. Not only will it help us humans regain our sanity, it just might save our skins.
— Larry Dossey, MD, author of The Extraordinary Healing Power of Ordinary Things

More Praise for Mirabai Star...

“Mirabai will help open up your heart to love.”

Ever since I met her when she was a teenager at the Lama Foundation, Mirabai Starr has been absorbed in the teachings of the great mystic saints, especially the women. Like her namesake, the poet-saint Mirabai, she brings to her work an intense love of God and a passion for the Beloved. My Guru said, “Love is the best medicine.” Mirabai will help open up your heart to love.
— Ram Dass, spiritual teacher, psychologist, and author of Be Here Now

“... brings understanding, and especially compassionate wisdom.”

I have been present during Mirabai Starr’s classes at the University of New Mexico in Taos, on both philosophy and the theologies of the major world religions. One would expect from such a background that she has gathered and synthesized a dazzling amount of knowledge, but in addition she brings understanding, and especially compassionate wisdom. These are godsent gifts that are simply given to her. Her life experiences of suffering and love pour into the cup of different levels of understanding which she offers so generously as a teacher, lecturer, writer, and guest speaker. I’m enriched and honored by her friendship.
Fr. William Hart McNichols, iconographer and Roman Catholic priest

“Mirabai Starr possesses passionate eloquence...”

Mirabai Starr possesses passionate eloquence when speaking about mysticism, making the ineffable tangible and real as eating delicious food that’s good for you.
— Jenny Bird, singer-songwriter

“... a gentle dynamite for opening and awakening.”

Mirabai’s words point toward the ineffable. She has an outstanding gift for language, plus penetrating insight, married to a heart of authentic compassion. Combined, the result is a gentle dynamite for opening and awakening.
— Sara Morgan, psychotherapist and spiritual guide
