New 7-week Program Starts

Tap into the power of ancient Jewish mysticism — an interspiritual approach to a lineage that offers practical guidance for your daily life.

Access a multidimensional map of consciousness for greater wisdom, love, and growth.

photo_ProfileCrescent.jpg

Have you been curious about Jewish mysticism or the mystical school of thought known as Kabbalah?

Kabbalah has recently surged in popularity, even outside of Jewish circles, for a reason...

And you now have the opportunity to explore this ancient wisdom...

With deep roots woven from Judaism, Kabbalah literally means “receiving tradition.” It was passed down orally from rabbi to rabbi to preserve the sacred message explaining the relationship of the unchanging, eternal, formless Divine, and the transitory, finite, physical world.

This received wisdom is much more than an exploration of the mysteries of the universe... it’s a gateway to a profound inner journey.

Kabbalah offers a uniquely integrated, holistic pathway to spiritual growth — from practical change to deep wisdom and healing.

It’s about aligning your energy with the deeper structure of the universe and seeing your life through the lens of the “Sephirot” — 10 spheres that represent a kind of “energetic anatomy” of the universe. The Sephirot is also known as the Tree of Life.

In the teaching of Kabbalah, you’re a microcosm of the Cosmos, where God is continually incarnating, healing, and evolving... a unique expression of the Divine in motion.

For centuries, these Jewish mysteries were withheld from even observant and committed Jews, and only recently taught outside of the Jewish faith.

We’re now blessed to be able to understand, practice, and apply this powerful path in a modern, global context — one in which serious seekers of wisdom have the chance to develop the “divine eyes” that each of the 10 Sefirot represents.

Each of these spheres is a prism through which to view part of the universe and your role in it. They offer qualities of being that help you become more skilled, virtuous, and wise in how you address different situations.

Kabbalah teaches us to relate to the world from a stance of wholeness and balance. From this stance, we can heal internally and externally — and become fully, radiantly alive.

Kabbalists particularly see our role as humans as Tikkun Olam — a phrase that means “repairing the world by reassembling the divine shards that have broken.”

By engaging the practices of Kabbalah, you can heal that which has been broken and liberate the true inner light of the Divine in your life.

Seeing the World With Divine Eyes

photo_StarTrailsTree.jpg

In The Way of Kabbalah, a 7-week program with Rabbi David Ingber, you’ll receive foundational insights and practices that bring alive the Tree of Life — the symbolic map at the core of Kabbalah.

Rabbi David will guide you in a spiritual journey in which you receive practical guidance for integrating and aligning these 10 energies to create a life foundation that’s wise, loving, and holistically grounded.

Kabbalists have always been scholar-mystics with families, careers, and worldly responsibilities. This powerful mystical lineage does not emphasize monastic practice, but instead a life of integral wholeness in which every aspect of our lives becomes radiant with the light of the Divine.

You’ll expand your understanding of life and the Cosmos. You’ll begin to see with divine eyes, open to a deeper meaning of words, numbers, and symbols, and live with more joy.

You’ll savor the richness of a tradition that sees the movement of the Divine in all things, opening you up to a more multidimensional experience of life.

The Power of a Profound Teacher

photo_teacher.jpg

The quality of our engagement with any spiritual teacher depends a great deal on his or her authenticity. At The Shift Network, we searched for years to find a teacher who could bring Jewish mystical tradition alive in a way that would speak to you.

We’re delighted to have found that teacher in Rabbi David Ingber. Rabbi David was steeped in the Hasidic tradition in his younger years, then went on a profound multifaith quest in which he drank in the wisdom of many esoteric traditions and practices.

He then re-engaged his lineage with a more interspiritual, holistic, and integrative lens, rendering esoteric ideas not only practical but relatable to many other systems. Given his deep understanding of and respect for wisdom of many lineages, Rabbi David is the perfect choice to begin mining the gems of insight from Jewish mysticism and revealing its profound linkages to other major traditions.

Rabbi David is both a scholar and a heart-teacher. He can transmit the essence of a teaching on a philosophical level while grounding it in stories from everyday life. Because of his ability to bridge many worlds, he’s considered one of the most influential rabbis in America.

More Than a Course, a Journey Into Wisdom

In this program, you’ll receive a lifetime of scholarship and practice distilled into seven exciting weeks. You’ll also participate in a virtual community of seekers of wisdom from around the world.

During this powerful program, you’ll:

Receive the key foundations for understanding the Tree of Life and relating to Kabbalah as a spiritual practice Understand the organismic quality of the Jewish mystical tradition, which brings you into right relationship with your body, mind, and life Discover how to balance different energies in your being when engaging with your family, work, and other worldly activities Begin the profound journey of Tikkun Olam Explore the meditative, magical, and philosophical schools of Kabbalah Understand how to take effective energetic action in the world, based on understanding endurance and surrender, and pushing and pulling. Explore profound insights into feminine and masculine psychology in Kabbalah Discover the mystery of Tzimtzum — and the power and application of creative constriction (rather than expansion) Examine the practices used by centuries of Kabbalists to “release sparks of divine light” Discover a deeper understanding of nondual consciousness And much, much more!

What You’ll Discover in These 7 Weeks

Course sessions are on Thursdays at 5:00pm Pacific.

In this 7-week transformational program, Rabbi David will guide you through the fundamental spiritual skills and competencies that you’ll need to successfully understand the 10 energies of the Tree of Life and to see the world through the Kabbalistic prism.

This course will feature teachings and experiential guided practices with Rabbi David. Each weekly training session will build harmoniously upon the next so you’ll develop a complete holistic understanding of the practices, tools, and principles you’ll need to sustain your awakened heart and mind and walk in the world with Kabbalistic intention.

Rabbi David’s class sessions will consist of a combination of visual slide presentations and audio teachings. All teaching segments will be pre-recorded, and Rabbi David will offer several LIVE Q&A sessions throughout the course so you can interact with him in real time and have all your questions answered.

Module 1: Origins of Kabbalah (April 26)

module1.jpg

In this first module, you’ll discover the hidden sources of the oldest Western mystical tradition. From biblical prophetic schools and the visions of seers like Ezekiel to the rabbis of the Talmud building Merkavah, or divine chariot, with Rabbi David’s guidance you’ll follow the winding wisdom master’s path to seeing God.

In this session, you’ll:

  • Be initiated into the circle of all who have engaged in the art and science of Kabbalah as we align our intention to draw living waters from this deep well of wisdom
  • Discover a basic Kabbalistic incantation to be used to unite head and heart, through love and reverence to the divine wisdom in Kabbalah
  • Explore the roots of Kabbalah, and who, how, and why it was created
  • Examine the 3 basic schools of Kabbalah — the meditative, magical, and philosophical

Module 2: Tree of Life’s 10 Energies of Evolution (May 3)

module2.jpg

This module will introduce you to the Kabbalistic GPS — Guide for Purposeful Spirituality. The 10 Sefirot or Divine Energies are the basic blueprint for understanding your soul. You’ll discover the first three of the Sefirot/Divine Energies, known as the Divine Mind, or Mochin. The Upper Triad — Keter, Chokhmah, and Binah, or Crown, Wisdom, and Understanding — are also known as Ayin or No-thingness, Father, and Mother.

In this session, you’ll:

  • Put on the mind of God
  • Discover how to notice the states of consciousness in your own life
  • Develop practices to expand these states of being
  • Read the Bible through the eyes of the Kabbalist

“Facebook Live” Video Q&A Session (May 9)

Rabbi David will join you via Facebook Live for one hour to interact with you in an intimate and immediate way, answering any questions that may have come up while working with the course material during the first two modules. This live video connection will be easy to use and will greatly increase your learning and transformation.

Module 3: Living, Loving, Acting The Lower Triads (May 10) (Live Q&A)

module3.jpg

Continuing the mapping of the Sefirot/Divine Energies, we’ll move to Lower two Triads, and the last Sefirah, Malchut (Chesed, Gevurah, Tiferet/Netzach, Hod, Yesod/Malchut). The lower energies, known as Middot (or measures), control, balance, and support the full holistic energetic system through emotional calibration and energetic action. Malchut, or Shechinah, is the Divine Feminine principle of manifestation and radical Divine Presence.

This module will also introduce you to the Sacred Marriage (hieros gamos) or Tiferest with Shechinah, and how that union, in our hearts, minds, and lives brings about Divine Blessing for the entire Cosmos.

In this session, you’ll:

  • Practice the dance of effective energetic action in the world, based on understanding endurance and surrender, pushing and pulling
  • Discover the formula and form of the sacred marriage of beauty/heart with expression and lived-Divine presence, called the “union of God’s name”
  • Come to understand how manifestation is rooted in purpose — and how action rooted in heart-opening is the promise of the Tree of Life

Module 4: Tzimtzum or Divine Contraction (May 17) (Live Q&A)

module4.jpg

This module will introduce the power of Lurianic Kabbalah, based on the system of the great 16th-century mystic, Kabbalist Rabbi Isaac Luria, who taught that in order to create the world, God contracted Her essence to make room for the world. Most of us imagine “withdrawal” as the opposite of creative living. Most of us imagine expansion as the core principle of creation, but not the Kabbalist. Divine light needs veils to be seen and so do we.

In this session, you’ll:

  • Discover the theory known as Tzimtzum (or constriction) which has deep meditative and psychological application
  • Explore the power of creative constriction or the mystery of Tzimtzum
  • Practice the Tzimtzum meditation — a meditative practice and visualization that births new worlds

Module 5: Worlds & Souls (May 24) (Live Q&A)

module5.jpg

You’ll explore the basic structures of the Kabbalistic “Great Chain of Being,” the unfolding of the five basic dimensions (or worlds) of reality, starting with Adam Kadmon (Primordial Man) all the way to the dimension of Assiyah (the world of manifestation). Each world correlates to a different energetic body, and each world or dimension has its own reality.

In this session, you’ll:

  • Understand how to identify and live appropriately in each dimension
  • Explore the inner structure of each dimension and its language
  • Discover meditation techniques to help familiarize you with each soul/world combination, using the Kabbalistic map for achieving self-knowledge

Module 6: Rectifying Reality Broken Vessels & Tikkun (May 31) (Live Q&A)

module6.jpg

In the Kabbalah of Rabbi Isaac Luria, the primordial lights of Creation were too intense for the earliest vessels, causing them to break. This shattering, or “breaking of the vessels” was a cataclysmic event, alluded to in the Bible and hinted at in the Zohar but not fully expressed until the 16th century. This shattering serves as the background for all human life, and specifically the work of the Kabbalist, whose job it is to discover the light hidden in the broken, material world. Locating sparks of light and releasing them is called Tikkun.

In this session, you’ll:

  • Study the underlying mythological background of this profound Kabbalistic assertion
  • Be shown the practices used by Kabbalists over the centuries to “release sparks of divine light”
  • Explore the implications of this mystical approach on everyday life

Module 7: Divine Eyes & Messianic Consciousness (June 7) (Live Q&A)

module7.jpg

In classical Jewish thought, the Messiah (or Mashiach), is seen as a redemptive figure, a person who will herald a new world, a utopian reality of peace, safety, abundance, and the absence of discord. For the Kabbalist, this prophetic vision is seen as a realized internal awareness of the Divine Reality, the ever-present possibility of Presence, of Divine Fullness and Radiance.

The Kabbalist seeks to see with God’s eyes, to hear with God’s ears, and to love with God’s heart. This Messianic Consciousness, known as Mochin d’Gadlut (or Big Mind), is not something found outside of the awakened individual but rather is the complete and profound actualization of the Tree of Life herself and is known as shalom, or complete and perfect wholeness. You’ll study and practice this Kabbalistic teaching.

In this session, you’ll:

  • Discover a deeper understanding of nondual consciousness
  • Explore the profound insights into feminine and masculine psychology that integrates line (kav) and circle (igul)
  • Practice the mystical chants of Messianic Meditations
  • Wrap up the course and prepare to live the Way of Kabbalah in the world

Audio Dialogue With Rabbi David Ingber and Daniel Matt

Danielbonus.jpg

In this audio dialogue with David Ingber, Kabbalah scholar and professor Daniel Matt shares his perspective on harmonizing science and Kabbalah. Daniel Matt is gifted at describing in understandable terms the parallels between science and mysticism and how they can together enrich our spiritual awareness and help us recover a sense of wonder and find our place in the universe. As Matt has written in God & the Big Bang: Discovering Harmony Between Science & Spirituality, “God is not somewhere else, hidden from us. God is right here hidden from us.”

Daniel Chanan Matt is a Kabbalah scholar and professor at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley. He received his PhD from Brandeis University and taught at Stanford University and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Matt is best known for his work translating the book of Zohar into English. By 2016, 10 volumes of the 12-volume set had been completed.

The God of Love
Audio Dialogue With Rabbi David Ingber and Mirabai Starr

MirabaiStarr.jpg

In this conversation, Rabbi David and author Mirabai Starr explore, express, and engage each other in a discussion about the relationship to a God of Love in the Jewish tradition. In a world where God is often used to rationalize unloving acts, they’ll talk about invoking a God of Love to transform our view of what’s possible.

Mirabai Starr is a critically acclaimed author and translator of sacred literature. She teaches and speaks widely on contemplative practice, interspiritual experience, and the transformational power of loss. Her works include Dark Night of the Soul by John of the Cross; The Interior Castle andThe Book of My Life by Teresa of Avila; The Showings of Julian of Norwich; Mother of God Similar to Fire (in collaboration with iconographer William Hart McNichols). Here 2012 book, God of Love: A Guide to the Heart of Judaism, Christianity and Islam, winner of the New Mexico/Arizona Book Award, positioned her at the forefront of the emerging Interspiritual Movement.

Mazal Tov: Introduction to Kabbalistic Astrology
Video Teaching With Rabbi David Ingber

Astrology.jpg

Astrology and Judaism have a long history. The phrase, “mazal tov,” or congratulations, literally means “a good constellation.” According to the Jewish tradition, Abraham, the first Jew or Hebrew, was an accomplished astrologer. According to folklore, Abraham arrived at his belief in one God after mastering the various ancient schools of astrology. In Kabbalah, or Jewish mysticism, astrology is seen as part of the Divine Mind, and correlations are made between the Sefirot or Divine Energies, the Hebrew alphabet, and the planets/signs.

This hour-long talk offers an overview of Kabbalistic astrology — how it aligns and differs from Western astrology, its impact on biblical interpretations, and what it says about the soul’s journey.

“I can honestly say I’m a better person... as a direct result of taking this course”

The biggest thing that stands out for me is how Rabbi David lives and embodies the teachings; one senses the Truth, the Light, coming through his words, concepts, chants, prayers. More than theoretical information spouted from sacred texts, Rabbi David explains the Kabbalah in practical ways to begin immediately to apply to one’s life for benefits... “It went beyond my expectation...”

I have no contact with Judaism or Jewish people; taking the course was to connect to the Jewish roots of my Catholic upbringing and my spiritual connection to Jesus the Christ. It went beyond my expectation in bringing together mysticism from Christian, Hindu, and Buddhist streams with the mysticism of Judaism, When Rabbi David speaks I know that he KNOWS. I could apply the teaching to my experiences and it was like looking in the rearview mirror. I am looking forward to deepening the contact.

“Rabbi David magnificently brought to me healing, love, and luminosity...”

Since the age of eight years old as a young Jewish girl, I have looked for a Jewish teacher that understands the bridge between LAW and LOVE and the importance of the direct mystical experience of God within. Rabbi David magnificently brought to me healing, love, and luminosity in learning an ancient accessible structure to attune and align our individual incarnated divinity within with the transcendental and immanent Truth of G-d within the fabric of the Creation. Thank you is not enough to express my gratitude of the transformation that has been initiated with my soul and the GIFT he is to us all. He opens a path HOME.
