Empower yourself to take control of your wellbeing with accessible, free, time-tested solutions.

You’ve probably walked past them a hundred times those pesky little weeds growing in your yard or along the sidewalk. But what if those so-called “weeds” are actually powerful, time-tested remedies used throughout millennia that can help heal what ails you?

Many weeds are actually packed with nutrients and healing properties that can significantly boost your health and wellbeing, shares herbalist and university professor Brigitte Mars.

Join Brigitte for an illuminating hour-long event, where you’ll deepen your understanding of a variety of unique natural remedies and deeply connect with the healing power of plants. For centuries, people have relied on the healing properties of herbs (and weeds) because they are bountiful, free, and effective.

With over 50 years of experience in herbal medicine, Brigitte brings a wealth of knowledge that is both practical and deeply rooted in tradition.

She won’t just teach you about herbs; she’ll show you how to integrate the power of plants into your life in a way that’s simple and accessible. Her down-to-earth approach makes even the most complex aspects of herbalism easy to understand and apply in your daily routine.

Brigette’s personal journey and deep connection to plant medicine make her teachings unique blending ancient wisdom with modern-day practicality. Whether you’re new to herbalism or looking to expand your knowledge, Brigitte will empower you to take control of your health using natural remedies that are often right at your doorstep.

In this event, you’ll discover the incredible benefits of three common “weeds” nettles, dandelions, and purslane that grow all around us and are often overlooked. These plants, which are actually powerful natural remedies that can support your health and wellbeing, were revered by ancient cultures for their healing properties.

The ancient Greeks, Romans, and Egyptians prized nettles for their anti-inflammatory and diuretic properties. They were used to treat arthritis, joint pain, and kidney issues, and the leaves were also consumed as a rich source of vitamin A, vitamin C, iron, and calcium. In Europe, nettle tea and poultices were applied to wounds to promote healing.

The Greeks and Romans also considered purslane a superfood for its high omega-3 content. It was consumed both raw and cooked as a vegetable and was believed to calm the digestive system, reduce inflammation, and aid in heart health. Purslane was also applied topically to treat skin conditions like burns and sores.

Valued for their detoxifying properties, particularly for the liver and kidneys, dandelions were revered by the ancient Chinese, Native Americans, and Europeans. The entire plant roots, leaves, and flowers was used to make teas and tonics to aid digestion, reduce inflammation, and purify the blood; it was also considered a valuable diuretic.

You’ll learn how to identify these potent plants and how to include them in teas, salads, and other simple remedies. Brigitte will share with you a dandelion and nettle recipe and the specific ways that dandelions, nettles, and purslane can be used to nourish your body and boost your vitality.

You’ll leave this event inspired to embrace natural remedies that have been used for centuries, helping you transform the way you look at the plants around you, and tapping into their benefits for your mind, body, and spirit.
