Learn how the power of sound and breath work together to regulate your autonomic nervous system, activating your vagus nerve and restoring inner balance so you can experience calm amid stress, improved mental health, optimal physical wellbeing, and greater joy no matter what life brings to your door.

Receive proven approaches and practical tools for healing, grounding, and spiritual growth from the leading edge of the sound-medicine field.

Are you feeling anxious and overwhelmed by all the changes swirling around you and the uncertainty of what lies ahead in today’s fast-paced, high-stress world?

In an environment riddled with adversity and trauma, our autonomic nervous system is easily thrown out of whack. Our sympathetic (fight or flight) and parasympathetic (rest and digest) responses become dysregulated, often causing disruptions in our mental, emotional, and physical health.

While it’s easy to feel overloaded with no clear direction, sound researcher Joshua Leeds affirms that you can find your way back to safety and peace of mind.

Joshua’s groundbreaking work is founded on the premise that your own voice is one of the most powerful tools you have for self-regulation and nervous system healing and that using your voice can significantly strengthen the power of your breath.

For thousands of years, ancient wisdom traditions from China, India, and Indigenous cultures have used breath and sound as sacred tools for healing, balance, and spiritual insight.

Modern science and psychology have confirmed that breathwork and its wide variety of potent techniques directly influence the autonomic nervous system, which controls how you respond to stress and how quickly you return to a state of ease.

With his decades of experience, Joshua has authored several books on the science and power of sound, and his specialized soundtracks are used therapeutically in clinics, classrooms, homes, and animal care facilities worldwide. Joshua has taught at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco and the New York Open Center, and conducts seminars virtually and internationally.

When you join Joshua in this insightful and experiential event, you’ll discover that by adding intentional tones, humming, and vocal sounding to breathwork practices, you can stimulate your vagus nerve shifting you from overdrive to downregulation, where you can return to a sense of safety as your heart and brainwaves relax.

As a specialist in psychoacoustics and bioacoustics, Joshua is uniquely positioned to guide you through sound and breath exercises to set that process in motion.

With this natural pairing of voice and breath, you’ll begin cultivating your own Sound/Breath ToolkitTM a personalized set of simple practices you can tailor to your unique nervous system to use whenever you need to ground, center, or uplift yourself.

Whether you’re a wellness practitioner, sound healer, psychotherapist, yoga instructor, or biohacker looking for new tools to amplify your practice, or you simply want to learn practical ways to settle yourself into calm amid stress and chaos…

… this workshop fuses the most up-to-date scientific understandings with applicable steps for grounding yourself and radiating that stillness out to the world.

In this hour-long free online event, you’ll explore:

  • How your breath and voice work together to stimulate your vagus nerve the master key to nervous system balance, stress resilience, and emotional wellbeing
  • A guided “vagal flossing” practice combining vocal humming with specific inhalation/exhalation ratios to massage the vagus nerve and restore inner balance
  • How to begin building your personalized Sound/Breath ToolkitTM a flexible collection of practices that you can tailor to your unique nervous system needs
  • The connection between vocal tones, breath patterns, and the autonomic nervous system and why sound healers and therapeutic professionals are uniquely positioned to benefit from understanding these gentle self-healing processes
  • Why nervous system regulation restoring harmony between your ‘fight or flight” and “rest and digest” responses is crucial in counteracting the chronic stress of our high-anxiety culture because of its effect on your physical, mental, and emotional health

Whether you’re struggling with chronic stress, mood swings, or physical health challenges, the practices you’ll learn from Joshua can help you reclaim your sense of calm, aliveness, and embodied joy through the power of your own sound and breath.

You’ll leave this hour with practical exercises and easy-to-use sound-healing tools you can use right away to gently guide your body and mind back into a state of balance and flow.

If you’re ready to awaken the healing power of your own voice and breath and learn how sound and breathwork can become your personal roadmap to calm, clarity, and resilience we invite you to join us for this special hour of discovery.

When you attend, you’ll also be among the first to learn about Joshua’s upcoming 7-week live video course, where you’ll deepen your exploration of breath, sound, and nervous system regulation, with corresponding inquiries into 21st-century soundwork, polyvagal theory, stress resilience, and the Tomatis® Method as a natural approach to neurosensory stimulation...

... culminating in the creation of your own fully customized Sound/Breath ToolkitTM, to support emotional resilience, vibrant health, and a joyful connection to your body’s natural wisdom.

**Please Note: The sound/breath exercises presented in this event are designed for the remediation of simple autonomic nervous system dysregulation. For pathological or advanced nervous system imbalances, please consult with your healthcare provider.

What People Are Saying About Joshua Leeds...

“Joshua was so supportive and engaging...”

Joshua was so supportive and engaging and showed another side of sound healing. Loved the faculty, the consistency of meetings, the fact that they were live and not recorded, and loved the exposure to new teachers in the field. Love everything I learned. Love that I get to go back and review. And that we have a contact list to stay engaged with others. I grew a lot in this time, and am so grateful to The Shift Network and the great teachers who shared their wisdom with us.

“Joshua is one of the most inspirational voices of sonic activism that I know.”

Aside from being a highly successful music producer, author, psychoacoustic sound artist, and teacher, Joshua Leeds has been an essential torchbearer for the groundbreaking research of sound pioneer Alfred Tomatis, who specialized in the healing power of Gregorian chant and Mozart.

Joshua is one of the most inspirational voices of sonic activism that I know. It is always a great joy to engage in in-depth inquiry and animated conversations — often with much laughter too — whilst unearthing the philosophical, psychotherapeutic, and physiological impact of sound and voice in the revelation of the human spirit.

Joshua’s life as dedication to an in-depth inquiry of the healing power of sound is accompanied by his highly articulate capacities to articulate and empower others to access, explore, and integrate the often challenging intricacies of bioacoustics and psychoacoustics in the healing of the nervous system through sound and voice.
