Be guided in a gentle somatic movement exercise to improve your body’s agility — so you can more easily bend and sit at the computer with greater strength, mobility, and ease.

There's always room for new improvements in our lives — no matter our challenges or discomforts...

Even when it comes to our bodies. An injury keeping us from enjoying our favorite form of exercise, or a diagnosis that plants the “story” of a “bad” back or knee can sometimes be reversed.

The effects of years of stress on the body — or compromising conditions, such as arthritis, and even aging — can be lessened. The body can be de-compromised and revitalized.

This is what pioneering movement teacher and trainer Judith Aston has helped others do for over 50 years. She’s helped Olympic athletes, professional dancers, corporate moguls, the elderly — just about every age group and body type — triumph over physical challenges, including her own injuries from car and skiing accidents.

“You don’t have to believe that where you are now physically is where you will always be,” she stresses.

Judith, who trained with Dr. Ida Rolf, the founder of Rolfing® and Structural Integration, created her own Aston® Kinetics approach to movement, fitness, and bodywork.

This holistic approach, which includes gentle loosening, toning, and stretching, uses the senses to listen to the body, tune in to how it’s being used, and create new ways of moving that allow for optimal mobility and wellbeing.

Range of motion is increased, and strength, ease, and tone are boosted.

The goal is to replace “auto-pilot” movements that may be causing undue harm with movements that feel good and can strengthen and lengthen the body.

Judith emphasizes, It’s the how you do the what you do that makes all the difference.

Approaching movement in this way can also help reorganize your connective tissues, called fascia, that permeate your entire body. And when you work with one area, you have a positive effect on your entire body, which is inherently a system of seamless networks of tissues rather than a collection of separate parts.

You are actually reshaping your body, and creating what Judith calls your New Neutral for Now — optimal movements that give you more strength, an expanded range of motion, and a feeling of lightness and ease.

During this life-enriching hour with Judith, you’ll have the opportunity to touch into your New Neutral for Now. You’ll also discover how to work with gravity instead of against it — a phenomenon she calls working with “ground reaction force.”

You’ll also learn how your emotions shape how you hold and use your body, and ways you can uncover the feelings impacting your movements.

As Judith teaches, optimal movement is about using your senses, being mindful of how you move — including how you move into extension — and how you take up and own your “space,” because no one else can.

During this physically liberating hour, you’ll:

  • Discover how the way you move and don’t move shapes your body and wellbeing
  • Learn ways to neutralize physical stressors and help lessen the impact from injuries
  • Discover how to access a new place of strength and resilience through release of unnecessary tension in your body
  • Discover ways to reclaim your range of motion, freedom, and ease
  • Make your daily movements at work and home more helpful than harmful by learning how to work with gravity instead of against it
  • Experience an exercise to feel how your day-to-day movements can promote strengthening and lengthening for better self-care
  • Be guided in a gentle arcing exercise for your spine to find your New Neutral for Now, so you can more easily bend and sit at the computer. (You’ll be amazed by the positive difference you feel after this simple lengthening exercise!)

For most of her lifetime, Judith has been developing new ways to reimagine and move our bodies in our day-to-day lives.

She teaches people from all walks of life and of varying physical capacities how to move more freely and be more comfortable in their bodies again — and even regulate their emotions more effectively as they interact with their bodies and lives in a whole new way.

When you attend this complimentary mini-workshop with Judith, you’ll also be among the first to hear about her brand-new 7-week online course...

... where you’ll learn simple movements designed to help you make immediate, empowering shifts in the way you move in your daily life, and exercises to address physical challenges due to stressors or injury — for a stronger, more flexible, more toned, and happier you.

What People Are Saying About Judith Aston...

“... there’s nobody who helped me as much as Judith.”

I feel, of all the people I worked with — the chiropractor helped me get out of my chronic pain — but [as far as] long-term health and avoiding future injury, bar none, there’s nobody who helped me as much as Judith. The shot put was my worst event and I’ve been coached by the best in the country. I trained with world record holders. Judith taught me things that those people were unable to teach me.
— Marilyn King, Olympic pentathlete

“... brilliant in its simplicity and applicable to every human being.”

Judith’s paradigm of biomechanics is brilliant in its simplicity and applicable to every human being.
— Nancy Romaine, Egoscue postural exercise therapist

“... a new paradigm shift in thinking about the body and movement.”

The Aston-Patterning® work represents a new paradigm shift in thinking about the body and movement. It makes sense and can be highly recommended. The Aston® fitness program for seniors is, to my mind, the one approach to physical training for the elderly which meets their needs.
— Erik H. Erikson, developmental psychologist and psychoanalyst

“... extremely helpful as an active rehabilitation approach.”

I strongly support this non-invasive technique used in people with injuries involving the spinal axis, peripheral joints, and multiple pain sites. As an adjunct to physical therapy, medication, or sometimes instead of other treatment, I have found it extremely helpful as an active rehabilitation approach.
— Irene Minkowsky, MD, physical medicine and rehabilitation, spine and joint disorders

About Judith Aston

Judith Aston is widely recognized as a pioneer in the art and science of kinetics. She created the Aston® Paradigm and Aston® Kinetics, which include many forms of movement training, bodywork, fitness programs, and ergonomics. Her acute ability to “see” and to train others to see, move, and feel, established her discipline of bodywork and movement professionally. Judith’s highly developed skill allows her to use her insights to problem solve and create unique sessions or program designs for individuals, groups, corporations, and more.

Early in her career, from 1963 to 1972, Judith taught movement, physical education, and dance for performing artists and athletes at Long Beach Community College. In 1968, at the request of Dr. Ida Rolf, she developed the movement education program for Rolfing SI and taught this program until 1977.
