Do you dream about living a more soulful life attuned to the wisdom of your heart?
Turning toward the heart as the center of our being is a powerful theme in Sufi mysticism.
In this free online event, sacred dance artist and movement educator Miriam Peretz will share why you can create a path to wholeness through the ancient practices of sacred dance, Sufi mystical whirling, and intentional breath.
Indigenous cultures throughout time have used movement and dance to sanctify the body, connecting the human spirit to the Divine.
Integrating intentional breath with movement to deepen the healing potential of dance can help you ease the pain of fragmentation, alienation, and loneliness. You become empowered to open and embrace your broken heart as an opportunity to expand your capacity to love.
Miriam beautifully weaves together movement and ritual to create safe, communal spaces for healing and embodiment. Through these sacred practices, you’ll connect to the deepest parts of yourself — finding emotional release, inner peace, and a profound sense of vitality and wellbeing.
During the hour, you will experience these timeless modalities in action as Miriam shares how your movement can transform your consciousness — and bring profound healing to your body, mind, and soul — when you focus your intention and prayer, allowing them to guide you.
You’ll be invited into the art of creating a sacred dance practice to align your intentions and prayers with your breath and movement.
Miriam will also guide you through a 3-part embodiment practice, in which you’ll bring more presence and gratitude into each moment as you focus on purifying and cleansing your organs — and honoring the four directions through the ancient practice of bowing.
The child of two mystics, Miriam has been on a lifelong journey to connect with the Divine through embodiment. Her love of dance has taken her traveling throughout the Middle East and Central Asia, where she deepened her studies of Indigenous sacred movement practices.
Miriam is the student of Hilal Sala, a teacher of the Mevlevi Order of America, and the late Dr. Ibrahim Baba Farajaje, a sheikh from the Chishti lineage.
Miriam’s work has been inspired by many contemporary visionaries, including Shift Network faculty Banafsheh Sayyad, whose pioneering devotion to sacred dance has opened hearts around the world.
Miriam has traveled the globe to learn and deepen her sacred dance practices and knowledge. After a lifelong journey through many modalities and cultures, she ultimately found her spiritual home in Central Asian dance, Sufi whirling, and sacred circle dances, many rooted in Shamanic wisdom traditions.
Join us as Miriam shares sacred dance and whirling as expressions of profound gratitude, the embodiment of Divine Feminine spirituality, and pathways to lasting transformation.
